Well Genesis 9 is the news- so the rest of you will have to showcase her as I'm not diving in to another figure.
We've got a possible hurricane forming in the Caribbean and future models (GFS) shows it will hit us Sept 30th timeframe, maybe Oct 1. Models hopefully will shift, I hope it doesn't hit us, but don't wish it on anyone else. Edit- and now the midnight run has it headed more toward Texas and Louisiana.
Victoria 9 is way too pricey for me, especially when I don't know what will be in the bundle
It looks like it could be at least a catagory 2 or 3 hurricane. I'm not sure where it will go after it gets into the Gulf; but when I run the EMCF model I'm seeing the possibilty of it turnning NE and going across central Florida and then up the East Coast toward me. I hope it doesn't get either one of us.
I've not bought her pre-purchase yet, but certainly will in the week to come even though I have no real interest in realism for commercial use I am too much of a tech nerd not to buy into at least the basics morphs, Victoria, & Michael of Genesis 9 to see the progress they made when I try to do renders. I also enjoy seeing the progress of nVidia, DAZ 3D, and the PAs. People that garden, do home improvement, and such hobbies, well these kind of technical and artistic improvements in DAZ Studio and it's models are just the sort of gradual improvements that motivates us in other hobbies we do too.
It's not like I'm ever going to use them in a game as I prefer toons for that (and real life keeps introducing too much interference to disrupt what I'm doing in game planning anyway) or be a serious artist with them, but I can see AOBB making great likenesses of actors from oldtime movies and myself trying to see how close I can get to copying a still of a movie a character AOBB's made is in. That's sort of fun when I'm in the mood.
And if DAZ 3D and/or PAs make new toons for Genesis 9 I will almost certainly buy those too, with 3D Universe's Toon Generations for Genesis 9 the most likely. Also Raw Art, Joe Quick, Alessandro (spelling sorry but the guy with all the great animal products), and so on. I'll have to try and start cutting back on clothing and sets but when they make such that I like enough I usually come up with the money.
I pre-purchased the Victoria 9 Bundle, but with my systems right now, with a 1080ti and 1080, not sure I will be able to really do her justice.
I am looking at upgrading my harddrive in a major way. There was a thread in Commons I just took notes from and I need to see what I have on my Dragon (desktop with the 1080ti). Expense is the issue. But I have also been thinking about this as the computer was build in 2017 and is struggling with many of the newer sets released today.

Nisse is a gorgeous Mousso character she comes with many options including elf ears, Fibermesh brows, several makeup options, nails and both skin/makeup sets for Uber and PBR. She does have a no brow option. She also comes with expression which I did not use here because I did not realize she had them! My only complaint was that the PBR skin was pretty shiny so I did turn that down. I did not check the Uber to see if it was as bad.
Theo Clothing set is boots, top, slip dress and bracelets. I mixed some of the textures so the top texture is from the addon and the rest is from the original. I did not use the choker because I could not get it to look smooth it kept looking wavey on the edges I suspect Nisses neck is adjusted. The dress and top dforced well, I did have to do some adjustments around the chest area of the top to fix some poke through.
Heroic Curly Style Hair is an OOT hair so that pretty much says it all right. Lots of movement morphs, colors and I really liked the ability to change the bands instead of the whole hair. I was able to easy adjust the hair to Nisses head because it has a bit of a different sizing. Plenty of color and blending options!

600,000 customers without power in Florida as of yesterday. Some areas say it could be months before total power restoration. it's hard even to get accurate statistics, because the situation is so bad some places. Here on the east coast, there are still some flooding issues in some areas, but we are so fortunate to have missed the really bad impacts of this Ian.

I'm mostly picking up odds and ends, I figure with the Genesis 9 coming along, the 8th generation will continue to go on sale more frequently. Not that I need it lol.
The best way to see the hurricane damage is through the local newspapers. Here's one of the Fort Meyers articles and from there you can explore the site. Just stay on that video and you'll see the floodwaters in the next video.

I'm very excited to see the Crow bird for sale & it's a DAZ Original. It looks great. I'll have to wait to buy it though. I wonder if it poses realistically & still looks good? Those old songbirds were pretty bad from a realism perspective.
Yep, I scooped up the crow. Just came to the thread to point out another one which looks interesting- the Dailey Hair. It's for 8.0 and 8.1 It was cheaper apparently, but I missed it. Still a great deal at 5.27 and 74 percent off. Edit- Barbara Hair by same vendor is also discounted. The Gallery images look good with it.
Also picking up E3D Tyr (G8.1 M) because he comes with that beard, and I really like the realism. Comes with and without the scar. BTW, what is that hair in the main promo?

I was hoping someone would ask this question! It is Maynard Hair (https://www.daz3d.com/maynard-hair-for-genesis-8-and-81-males-and-females) and is one of my favorites because it has morphs that make it look radically different.
Is it dforce hair? I remember looking at it when it came out, but I was unsure and unwilling to risk it. (potato computer and all)

@nemesis10 I'm looking at the morphs for Maynard Hair looks really shaved so I'm guessing the Shaved Thicken is what makes the sides really fill in? That's really neat! Thanks for pointing out the hair, I don't have that one.

I came across the Skinchangers as I looked through my library and, as I hadn't tried them, I loaded them up. As is my want I redid the surfaces to my liking and did a few renders.
