That appears more or less to be outright stating as a policy the fine text that they've been applying to sales for a while now. They have been clearly stating that you can't return an item to get it at a lower price in a sale -- this is just more like that.
Separately: It appears that the site changes have been reverted ... for the moment, anyway.
Doesn't it leave it a bit open to interpretation? Sales events vs sale prices? If an artist discounts their product and it isn't part of the main promo, for example? But what if another sale "event" is happening at that same time?
It doesn't seem particularly open to interpretation. In general, on this site, sales prices don't occur outside sales events -- with the possible exception of Fast Grab, which has always been excepted/exempted from this sort of thing.
Have there been instances of an artist discounting their product outside a sales event? From what the PAs who have commented on it have said, it seems to be far more frequent that their items get included in sales events without their prior knowledge or consent (which, in theory, isn't supposed to happen). The closest thing I can think would be RawArt's birthday sale -- but that's quite definitely a sales event.
And, again in theory, items shouldn't be included in more than one sales event at a time -- but we know that happens. In the past, what they've done is to issue credits for the correct price, but that's not the same thing as a return/replace. And someone has to raise the issue for that to happen.
Well, I'll use that announcement to say I just drilled down into the Clara Ballet Dancer Bundle, the Mouse King Bundle, and the Nutcracker Bundle and found that if I added each item individually into my cart from the bundle the price would be about between 55% - 60% of the already 30% discounted off bundle sale prices so naturally I just picked & chose individual items from the 3 bundles, about 2/3rds of the total items, & bought those.
That kind of sales & pricing organization surely isn't going to help DAZ sales in the long run because they'll be far more that I and other customers will forget about & not buy when things are dual priced like that; then they'll be products that I or others like so much that I or they won't forget about them - like the entire recent ballet theme.
Anyway, at least, I've got now almost the entire Nutcracker Ballet Theme products mostly collected.

Thank you so much, I just finished reprinting my .pdfs for the past 3 days of purchases so I have documents that I can read!

Yawn. March Madness? Did you see what was in those freebies categories? So much repeat stuff that what is showing for me is literally back to V4. And I've hardly been buying last year. A lot of stuff in the vendor stores were in the flash sales, I'm seeing a few sci-fi stuff. Why get it now when it was 70 percent off? Anyway, sitting out on today's sale.
ColorGaleria, who's made some very interesting characters on Renderosity, has come to the Daz store, and their first product is.....unimpressive.
The Colorgaleria product reminds me of the quote of how Tom Holland always looks like he is holding a frog in his mouth! I thinkit is a pretty reasonable likeness.
I agree. I didn't even finish scrolling through the "Freebies."
It also looks like "Grap Bag" has replaced PC for a Day ,4.99 instead of 1.99 ......
The newest thing in the freebies selection was released in 2016.
Wow. No wonder it was so stale.
Just in case you'd ever use a long sleeve leotard, this 4.99 dress has one underneath it. Karine Mode I think the dress is cute, it's got a crisp look to it, although I've never understood long sleeves on a leotard. A unitard (also covers the legs) yes, but a leotard? Anyway, you get the dress and leotard.
It is a body suit, like a blouse or sweater, but with the bottom part that keeps it looking tucked in and tidy. I used to have several. They had snap closure at the crotch. (the real ones, maybe not the digital one - don't know)
I've seen dancers and gymnists wear them as well as some gals wearing them as street wear Back when I was in school they had fastners in the crotch girlfriends and wife had a lot of them
Did you notice that the 40% off was a mistake? The March Madness percentage is actually 20% off new releases and 30% off with 2 or more.
I went back and looked through previous years, and March Madness was 40% off 1 purchase (30% normally) and 50% off with 2 or more purchases.
I have to wonder why they are even bothering. The discount is not "mad" at all.
It's always worth asking, the worst they can do is turn you down.
I've had success even in cases with the "Discount cannot be used to purchase already owned discount purchase"-wordsalad small print.
LOL perhaps THEY'VE gone mad?
OK, so I guessed right. I think it's good too, albiet skewed a bit towards 3D caricature then realistic.
I quite like Trevor. I have no need for a Tom Holland look-alike but he might serve as a good base for some other idea I had. Still thinking about it.
For some reason, when I saw the Trevor thumbnail on the sale page, I thought it was a hair product. As I clicked through the promos, that seemed reasonable until I got to the gooey spidery looking black thing. Then I thought "What? Is that a morph of this hair?" Then I FINALLY caught on that this was not a hair product at all. Then I lost interest and moved on.
Z's Pose Corrections look good- gets the real squish and takes out the awkward bends like when a thigh is really bent into the stomach. The images show the before and after. Only 4.99. Anyone got it prior to the sale and used it?
Here's an article for you. Note this last paragraph (fun statistics) Article
Daz 3D has created the most artist-friendly digital marketplace, paying nearly $100 million to its global network of contributing artists. Users of Daz Studio create more than 20 million images and animations annually. With over 3 million downloads, Daz continues to drive efforts at the forefront of digital identity and expression.
Daz is a subsidiary of Tafi Co? I would think it was the other way around. Anyway, going on 4am and I have to get some zzz's and then do yard work all day. We're have 78-80 degree days in Feb and beginning of March, it's crazy, going down in the 30's at night but last night/this morning. Currently 51 degrees. So yard work and off the computer, but I'll check back in periodically. Sitting out most of MM except the 4.99 stuff. How do you guys feel about that Knight series dragging on for FIVE weeks?
I'm looking at this now, would also love to hear from folks who have it.
How does it compare to Zev0's Bend Control? https://www.daz3d.com/bend-control-bundle-for-genesis-8-female-s-and-male-s
Do you think it would be easy to manully transfer the Zeddicus Pose Correction morphs to G8M? I have done cross-gender morph transfers before, but it's been ages and I remember it being a bit confusing...
History
Originally a part of Zygote Media Group, a general purpose, application-agnostic broker of 3D content, Daz 3D split off as Digital Art Zone[7] in 2000[8] to focus on supplying content for the Poser market. The company no longer uses that name, and does not treat "Daz" as an acronym for it.[9]
In 2016, Daz 3D spun off Tafi, a 3D-content company intended to focus more on the game developer market.
The first Poser products I bought came from Zygote (DAZ) and they were for Poser 3 just before Poser 4 came out and before Victoria came out
Thanks for the recommendation of dForce Chaotic Hair. It worked out perfectly for a couple images I added to my Gallery lately.
I actually just used Chaotic hair for my most recent render:
Aladdin
Little known fact: the original story of Aladdin took place in China. The genie in the lamp was actually the second genie; the one that helped Aladdin escape from the cave came from a magic ring.
When was that sale on? I've been checking all day intermittently, but haven't seen it.
Give us the links :) Happy to go "like" them.
@tsroemi That was from over a week ago. She's quoting an older post. :) But during MM a lot of things go on repeat sale, so it will probably pop up again. What caught my eye about that hair was how different it can look. (The thumbnails do a great job.)
One mention- if you have Filter Forge, they are offering the STUDIO (not the professional version, this is the one above that one, can do 2 computers, etc) but only through email. Check your spam folder. I got it (259.00) for 89.00 and on their site, the cheapest is 155.00. It said it was for previous owners only. I had the versions up to and including 8, so I hadn't bought in several years. If you didn't get an email you might want to contact them, sale ends tomorrow. I just need to TRY it. I want to do seamless tiles. I did get the library and the thingie to use the library (said it was required) so I'll have to take a peek and figure out how to use it. Was I smart to buy it at this price, or does it usually go lower?
