I"ve been playing with the Daz to May plugin and a trial version of Maya, and i'm not having a good time with it, the control rig that DAZTools sets up is very hard to control. Is the control rig created by Genesis 8 to Maya by Laylo3D (https://www.daz3d.com/genesis-8-for-maya) better than the rig created by the free Dz to Maya plugin? Also can I still export animation from Maya if I use the LayLo3D plugin instead of the Daz plugin, or will the exported animation not work in Daz or Unreal? Just trying to figure out best options, as I want to animate in Maya but do some rendering in Unreal and some in Daz.

It cannot, as far as I know, although you can export animation to unreal from Maya the usual, well-established way.
I'd like to know this too. The biggest thing missing from all the Daz Bridges is
1- Getting them to actually work as advertised
2- None of them seem to export the face rig and controls.
Without this so far I don't see any use for Daz characters other than using them to render still images.
It can't. For face rig and controls I went with a Kinetic Motion plugin, which is awesome.
The ONLY way to get BACK into DAZ is through the official plugin, no getting around that. I even tried renaming the entire structure and mirroring the Laylo3D import to be identical to the Daz Plugin one, but in the end the "DAZTools" command would just fail out at one part or another. THe closest I got was being able to get to the standard Daz A pose so that I can easily import clothes and props and wrap them to the model, but that's it.
