I open DIM, select Daz to Blender bridge to download, it downlaods and goes into the 'ready to install' tab, I click that and it looks like it goes into the installed tab.... but look at the attached image. There is a ? where the size of the file should be, and when I try an dlocate files it's just a blank box... if I close DIM and open it again the bridge is back in the 'ready to install' tab. It never actually installs into daz. What am I doing wrong??

No worries, you aren't doing anything wrong at all. Sometimes, even though uninstalling and reinstalling can resolve many installation issues, there are problems with the file itself; so now I would recommend that you erase the file completely and reinstall fresh.
To do this:
1. Go to Install Manager. Uninstall the product.
2. Under the Ready to Install tab, right click on the product. Select "Delete Packages" and select the product.
3. Now, got to Ready to Download and redownload the product.
Are you able to install the file as expected after this erasure? You'll know this installed correctly with Daz to Blender bridge now appearing under the Installed tab of DIM, as well as a file size replacing the "?".
Thanks for the response Razzle, I tried deleting the files and redownloading and then installing several times before posting, and again after your response and still it does the same thing as above.
New blender update... still won't load and get the exact same problems as shown above.
I have deleted the beta version of daz and all older versions of blender off the hard drive so there is only one version of each software on my system. I have uninstalled and reinstalled dim, I have undownloaded and redownloaded and tried to instal daz to blender bridge multipule, so far nothing is working.
Make sure that you allow DIM to make changes to your computer - requires admin permission because it installs a folder into your AppData
Not much of anything gets installed, so it may actually already be installed.
I'll try and remember to check this out after work - the exact procedure. I think we need to enable or add a script to our Daz Library/interface, but then we also must install the addon in Blender:
There should be a zip file in your [Drive] > Users > Your User Name > AppData > Roaming > Blender
Something like that. Find it first so you find it. Not at 'my' computer to check right now.
In Blender go to Edit > Preferences > Addon tab
Click Install and navigate to the zip file and double-click the zip
When done, back in the addons tab enter Daz into the search bar and enable the plugin by putting a check in the box. Be patient with this step as some time for refreshing will be needed. Don't keep clicking the check box - just click it once and wait.
Restart Blender
In Blender, type "n" and a panel will open from the right side window. One of the tabs will be your Daz Bridge
Hope this helps
Thank you so much for the response Dartan. In my appdata roaming file I have Blender Foundation then two folders Blender 9.0 and one that says BLENDER_VERSION no zips in either folder. The one that says blender version then goes to scripts/addons/DTB so I'm guessing that's daz to blender bridge... it goes to another couple folders and files, no zip anywhere. I deleted the Blender version folder then reinstalled through the DIM to see what would happen. It just recreated the blender_version folder in the same place. No zip files.
Have you customized your install paths at all? If so, I would recommend opening a help ticket with a title something to the affect of "Blender Bridge Help (Forums)" and I can look into assisting you with this further here:
Submit a request – Daz 3D Help Center (zendesk.com)
Otherwise, it is possible that this could be a permissions issue. Would you please ensure that both the Daz Studio and Blender applications are both closed and attempt the uninstall / re-install process once more? If this does not resolve the installation issue for you, then I would recommend opening a help ticket so that I can look into this issue further for you and see why these files aren't appearing on your end where they should be.
DTB is the one.
Select that inside the Install dialog in Blender's Addon tab within Edit > Preferences.
Sorry - was at work
When I first tried, I went inside the DTB folder (zip? Don't recall - either way) and tried installing something in there. Don't. Just select the folder when telling Blender what to install.
The new version of daz to blender bridge puts me..... right back where I started. It will not install.
Ryan from daz worked with me for a bit and I have the script showing up in blender with some files he sent me but nothing in Daz. Last time I heard from him he told me he sent me the wrong files for daz and I haven't heard back.... That might have been a week ago.
The last scene I built would have been nice to put the daz horse in. Rendered in cycles. Built following the Create 3d Environments class from Udemy.
