Thank you, very, very much for creating such a wonderful Bridge products, especially Daz to Unity Bridge.
For me it was the major step in improving quality of the renders / animations made in Unity
and I am trying to learn myself, as much as possible.
Thank you again for all your hard work and I am looking forward to all improvements you incorporate into Bridges.
Would love to know more!
That something that's in the works. I would love more detailed feedback on what you hope is better. You can also send me a message. Thank you for the feedback. Happy to know our hard work is appreciated!
Thank you very much for your hard work. Daz to Unity bringed me to the Daz3D word and convinced me to drop my own human base in order to use the cloths library from Daz3D store in unity. It wouldn't have happens if there wer'nt a tool like this one at the first place, so perfect timing.
If I had to make a feedback that would be to allow somehow to export models alone without the main base in unity, and keeping their morphs along with their rigging. Actually it doesn't support it and I only have been able to use this bridge to get the base model in Unity (Which is already super cool). For bringing all the cloths separately and keeping the morphs of the model I had to use a project morph in the software and to export them as .FBX, before importing them back in Unity.
That would also be nice to allow the user to choose to export to Unity multiples materials for a single mesh, if they exist. Actually I have to export as FBX the same piece of cloths multiple time under different names in order to have all the textures available in a folder outside of the software.
But whatever, I can only see a bright future for this bridge. Thank you for making me come in Daz3D and keep up the good work, you are awesome !
I'm having some trouble with an aspect of Daz to Unity. Hopefully this is the right place to post it.
Everything works great for the regular transfering of a character with typical settings.
However, there are issues when I transfer a character using anything but the 0 subdivision level. The character is fine until an animation is applied, then the following happens (see attached image).
Is there a solution for this?
The lack of information is impressive. First, not knowing what works, what doesn't. I know the official plugin doesn't work, material problems occur. Second, they point out that the 'github' site is not very friendly to anyone who wants to learn something - it's confusing. Third, not even the plugin version on the official DAZ page is correct with the video presented by DAZ (they use Unity 2020 version and on the page, it's like 2019).
I'm really lost here...
Daz oficial video, version 2020.1.5 (0.49 sec on video) -
On oficial page: https://www.daz3d.com/daz-to-unity-bridge (Supported Unity Versions: 2019.4, with HDRP)
I NEED HELP !. When I click "send to" the Unity bridge isn't there, only Hexagon and Bryce. I'm using Daz 4.15.
Hi jeronimocollares,
I've also find that the support for the official Unity bridge is abysmal. And also when I've used Daz 4.15, the bridge had disappeared, and I've heard nothing from the development team. So here's what I've done when importing Daz figures into Unity.
1 With Daz 4.15 I'm using Unity's 2020.3.15 LTS
2 I would recomend trying the unofficial bridge which also supports Unity's URP. Here is the forum - https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/518681/released-unofficial-dtu-bridge-v1-1#latest
3 For interior scenes I've found the point light and spot light work well with Daz figures. I also use the post processing stack.
4 When I've imported a Daz figure into Unity, the skin looks metallic, so I've just created a new material and applied it to the figure. Problem solved.
5 Some figures seem to look strange in Unity. So at some point I'm going to compile a list of which figures look good in Unity. This issue could be fixed by using Unity's raytracing or ray tracing path, I haven't played around with this asset yet.
I'm not a professional but always glad to help other creators :) I hope some of my points help. Also I've attached a photo of a side project I'm doing at the moment. The figure is a Genesis 3 female and I've used point lights which will be wall lamps and have a spot light on the character.
What the hell is wrong with this team? Does it still exist? The animation import of this addon does not work, it is has not worked, ever, for anyone and no one is taking care of it? Why?
where can i find this package? Unofficial_Daz3D_Bridge_v1_1.unitypackage. it was referred to in the Unofficial post, but it was never referred to in the Daz to Unity tutorial. i would have asked on the unofficial post but for some reason it's been closed. it was not included in the zip file for the Unofficial .dll, so where is it?
Oh, and i just checked, even with the new Unofficial .dll i don't have a send to Unity, only send to Bryce & Hexagon. Thanx!
Hopefully, this answers all of your questions and clears up any confusion. If you have any further issues, I recommend that you post in the "[Released] Unofficial DTU version 1.2" thread to be sure that I don't miss your posts. Thanks!
