Particle in my eye

edited December 1969 in Carrara Discussion

I could of sworn there was a way to make the DIAMONDS particles in a particle emitter to POINT towards a certain camera!

Now i can figure it out?

PLEASE ADVISE

use an object in the particle emiter and use a point at modifier on it
I did it with a bulb with a crosscreen effect, and parented the emiter to a dancing figure's hand, very purtty

Hi Richard...this is how I do it...sure there are other ways.
    Load a new scence
    Drop in a particle emitter
on the modifier tab (emitter) choose point at camera (1) and check z+
then in the model room I go to the advanced tab and change gravity to -1.00
    that should get you started.

Is there any way to have the DIAMONDS to come out of the emitter randomly rotated?

I have yet to use emitters successfully...but the coder geek in me sees the word "randomly" and immediately offers the uneducated answer of "No." To my knowledge, we don't have any programmatic ways of controlling Carrara. That would be a pretty sweet feature to have though!

Try the ORIENTATION controls towards the bottom of the Particles Creation area.

I tried a few things and discovered I could use an object...a single polygon...shaped like a diamond... and then rotate it along the timeline...not sure if it is what you are looking for but I did learn some things ... thanks (and Holly, too)
