So, picked up Twizted Fantasy Markings. I think some of these are very cool. So Noor gets to try them. I did put some on Evandras, but he looked like a guitarist from Kiss.
Noor's hair is Elysa Hair which I think looks pretty cool on elves.
So the Reptilian Skins for Genesis 8.1 Female work just fine on Genesis 8.1 male with the UV swap. I particularly like the eyes. I turned off the scale displacement, as I only like a little scale.
Neat product. I don't pay close attention to the store front anymore since prices went over the top and the typical everyday sales are just in reality full priced so I completely missed that one and the price ain't bad either.
I saw this and wound up picking up the male version, which has identical texture sets to the female.
I didn't realize there was a male version? Where is it?
Happy you liked the skins. Indeed, reptilian is the female version for this product: https://www.daz3d.com/alternate-textures-for-oso-newt-and-genesis-81-males.
The skins are very similar (as they are meant to be) with some differences in the details. You can see those differences in the comparative renders (last promos of Reptilian Skins) where the guys wear the male version and the females wear the female version. Example:
Nonetheless, the female version has textures for both genital options in case someone were to use UV swap to use the skins on the males.
Oh, awesome! I love this. Thanks for letting me know about that. I guess the different name kind of threw me off.
Yeah, that became a problem once we wanted to do the female version of the skins, since calling it Newt for the females would've made people expect the Newt shape for the females as well. So we went for a different name. Keep in mind that the male version doesn't have gen mats (Reptilian Skins is the first product we've done with gen mats followed by https://www.daz3d.com/alternate-textures-for-storybook-frog-and-genesis-81-male << which also includes "human" versions of the skins with their gen mats).
BTW, your guys are always gorgeous! :)
Ooh, I like the look of the storybook frog set. That's in my cart right now. I will probably use my coupon on it if it's eligible.
I really can always use unusual skins for the star-trek type aliens I like.
Wohoo! Excellent, I appreciate that. I really enjoy making aliens, and having unique skins really helps!
Just messing around with more of the cool skins. Just wanted to point out that they are rather sexy from the back as well.
Glad you're having fun, Serene. BTW, Bullwarg's Alternate Skins also works on human characters quite well. I discovered it thanks to a user who thought to apply it to a human character back when they released it. Since they are a DO they are often heavily discounted. I recommend using another character's maps and just swapping the diffuse for Bullwarg's Alternate Skin's diffuse maps. Or, if you want a richer color, swap the translucency as well. I did some experiments and added them to my gallery to show how that looks like:
Has anyone tried the https://www.daz3d.com/dforce-pitt-bull-hair-for-genesis-3-8-and-81-males
It says there are some "morphs for the hair and the hair cap," but most of it looks like it moves using dForce. I find that too time consuming for my computer, so I'm asking how well does it work with the included morphs? Has anyone bought it and experimented?
I bought it. It was a good price so I will check it out later tonight to see how it looks.
that looks really great! Sold! I have snapped it up.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate it.
Here are settings for Pitt Bull cap and hair
All of my hairs have movement morphs. It works like a traditional hair model (except it is strand- based), and does not need to be simulated unless you want to. :)
The hair fits, like a regular hair, and you can indeed dforce it, but it also includes some rather nice standard morphs including a rather cool wind option, and a blow back option. There are adjustments for fits for different 'clumps' of the hair.
@chevybabe25: @Serene Night: Thanks very much for the information.
The hair has some pretty natural looking wind morphs. No dForce involved.
So Bitsy gets a picture since that last picture had THAT chihuahua in it. I'm still stuck by how after all this time, the dog morph's legs are still jenky. So strange.
I replaced the pizza in this box, because the pizza it came with, was super flat and looked like a tortilla.
So more aliens.
This time I used the Freebie Centaur Mane made by Redz you can get it from Renderosity's Freebie section. It's very nice, and versatile as well. I recommend putting two on, so that it's thicker. I recolored it. I also added skins from the Alternate Textures for Oso's Newt.
The nosering was hard to find. I wanted one with a chain and had to use an old v4 one here. Destiny-Jewels
Yes, thanks so much! I like the alien skins. Can't wait for more! =-)
On the subject of men's content, Eastern Warrior Hair from Rendo looks pretty good. It has a number of morphs, and several different colors. It also has a 'hood morph.' The only issue I can see, is the scalp hairline seems a bit abrupt. Still, I think I can probably kitbash another hairline underneath.
The character's skin is CC Acacios for Torment. I like the extra skins, and they work well for aliens.
So I picked up the CC Puck for Genesis 8.1 Males figure and set. It includes some very nice wings, and some morphs such as the ears, and the jewelry. I fell back on the Torment/ CC Elandor figure combination which so far I like the most with elves, but if you want to render fairies this is a great looking set, and it blends well with everything.
I used the Fairy Scale IBL Fairy Flower environments for the background.
I haven't bought it yet. But I notice there's a "disguise" look, so it looks like a regular human, and it seems to come with a variety of skin colors.
So can the textures just be used on a regular "human" and can you use skin colors so that it would be suitable for a black guy, a light skinned white guy, and deeper skinned white guy? Is it that flexible?
And how about the Puck bows and the anatomical hair: can you use them on any other G8 guy?
And there are both male and female anatomical elements for all of the skin colors or seasonal base materials, such as spring, fall, etc. Did I read this correctly?
If all this is so, this character package does seem to offer a great deal.
ummm dude a mouse trap? you do have wings ya know ......
