Hello I really like your product and have posted two gorilla and one yeti renders in my gallery. I have saved several scenes and today I was thinking about trying the amazing skins to bring down the skins tones on my yeti. All of my saved scenes with the gorillas are now opening bad. With error message Duf File is bad. Cannot load LAMH assets. So everything loads in the scene eccept LAMH and there is no way to reapply. I know in the past I contacted customer support about the free LAMH player and I thought that I wasn't getting all the features it offered. Can you help me. Also have encountered a few problems with posing LAMH not applying in areas. Same pose just different mirrors. If I remember right on my testing the hair went away on the arm when I applied the open mouth to the poses.

A message that "Duf File is bad. Cannot load LAMH assets." means that LAMH cannot find a figure that matches the label that the preset was saved on. In this case, LAMH aborts the load so that we don't get a hair explosion (like those in the Shrek blooper reels) due to the preset being applied to the wrong figure. In this case, the solution is to delete the incorrectly named preset, and reload the correct onto the figure that it belongs on.

Which version of the free player are you using? Watch for a new version of the player that is in DAZ QA and should be set free soon.

Hello I am using version 1.06 with daz pro 4.6 64bit. I went back and read some of the details of the free player and I know that I do not get the elagant pane it talks about. When I go to the Add Pane(Tab) the Look at my my Hair is there, but will not dock. So I do not know if I get all the features the free player advertises.

As for some of the preset issues you reccomend trying. Not sure I follow you on how to procede after trying RawArt's fix that did not work.

The latest player version in the store is 1.5.06P. That version of the player should allow for docking and deleting presets w/o problems. The new version coming as soon as DAZ QA approves it is 1.5.12P. If you wish, you can send a copy of the .duf to krsears (at) trdc.biz and I'll take a look at it to see what may be the issue.

A lot of confusion when it comes to these player versions. I went to the Daz store and it is labeled version 1.06 the same as it was in my product directory. I deleted and redownloaded the free player using the DIM. Same numbers. There was a log file that I found that said LAMH Session Started(1.5.01P). Still no pane. Where do I find the version number that is installed on my computer.

Under "Help", look for "About Installed Plugins". In the panel that opens when you click on in, look for LAMH, and click on it. The information will show up in the panel's split screen.

I checked my version number at the About Installed Plugins and have LAMH 1.5.0.1
Hope this will help in finding a solution to my problems. Thank you lee_lhs for telling me where to look.

    Hello Kendall,
    I still have problems
I just installed the product update for LAMH through the DIM.
    I now have LAMH 1.5.12.0
I am still unable to dock the player from the Add Pane (Tab). This time there is a little Head icon next to the Look at my Hair. And I have done no other testing because the LAMH did not dock in the pane. Please advise as to where we go from here to get the LAMH player working.

You probably can't dock it because you need to activate the 'dock option' in Studio: menu Window->Workspace->Lock Docking/Undocking. Once you do that, you must be able to drag the LAMH pane around and dock it.

    Hello Alessandro,

So everybody knows what we are talking about, I grabbed this text of yours from another thread explaining the LAMH player.

"Hello, if you have models that feature LAMH fur/hair, usually you just need to load the LAMH version of the model directly from the Content Library. Take for example, the DAZ Big Cat2, or one of my models: you can find those in the Animals->AM->Kangaroo.>LAMH Figures (just to make an example).
The above procedure is valid if the artist provides a .duf character, so this is the more common way to load a LAMH character.

However, one could also load the base figure, and later on, using the LAMH Pane, 'Attach' a .lmh preset file (that you need to browse in the proper directory).
Here is the link to the LAMH Player manual, that should explain things better than I tried in my poor english: http://www.furrythings.com/LAMHPlayer/LAMH_Player_manual.pdf"

I have tried accessing the pane from the Add Pane (Tab). There are 33 items there and they all dock and close except one Look at my Hair.

I read your manual and was able to access a LAMH pane from the Window Panes Tabs. There are 34 items there.

I now try to create a scene by adding Goriilla LAMH preset from figures in smart content. All seems good?

I then add Nature Trail Version Scene and Skybox. Things start to go wrong. LAMH group is renamed.

I save as scene and reopen. I get error message Duf File is bad. Cannot load LAMH assets.

I try another way to approach the problem and create another scene this time adding the Nature Trail Version Scene and Skybox 1st then addiing the Gorilla LAMH. All seems good? LAMH group is not renamed.

I then save the scene and daz crashes. The fatal error message. And I find myself rewriting this entire post.
    Not to Happy.

Can you email the LAMH logfile.txt to "[email protected]", after the .duf save operation?

The skybox script will change the name of the last LAMH asset. To stop this behaviour by the Skybox add a blank NULL node after the LAMH asset has been loaded. This will cause the skybox script to read the NULL instead of the LAMH asset and it will not change the name. You can avoid this behaviour by loading the skybox before everything else as well.

    Hello Kendall,

I have been doing some simple test and would like to share my results.

    I now have LAMH 1.5.13.0

LAMH is still not accessible through the Add Pane (Tab) only the Window Panes Tabs works to access the pane.

I now try to create a scene by adding Goriilla LAMH preset from figures in smart content. All seems good? I then add Nature Trail Version Scene and Skybox. This time LAMH group is not renamed. Success. Although I did not have to go through your procedure of adding a Null? I know I did test with Null and it only worked with the Null a week ago has something changed?

I try another way to approach the problem and create another scene this time adding the Nature Trail Version Scene and Skybox 1st then addiing the Gorilla LAMH. All seems good? LAMH group is not renamed. I then save the scene and daz not crash this time. Success.

I now try to open one of my older saved scenes. Mountain Yeti. I get duff file is bad I press okay to continue. See attached screen shot.

This is where things go wrong unsure of how to bring all my bad saved scenes back to life. I know some of my scenes were completely lost to the fatal error. See attached screen shot you may have to walk me through it. You have Genesis 2 Male and the renamed LAMH group. Will we be able to make it work.

This is where I close the scene to create a new scene and Daz crashes. The fatal error message. And I find myself rewriting this entire post.

Hi. To dock the LAMH pane once you have it up you can drag it to whichever panel you wish.

Please send me the mountain yeti scene so I can see what is happening on load. (krsears (at) trdc.biz)

    Hi,

    Wonderful orangutan!

I would like to make the long hair orange. It is currently green. How do I do that and rig to the oranguran so that it moves into different poses. I am very new to Daz! Do you have an instructional PDF?

    regards

The hair is a LAMH preset you need to render it for the colour to show.

Since the character is a morph of Genesis, t is already rigged, so you cn apply any genesis pose and it will work.
The orange hair will show up after you click on the "render" button, and actually render the picture.. The green lines are just LAMH's way of showing the hair object is applied.
