Hi all,

Given a V4 figure and a backdrop, how could I use camera to focus on V4 figure and blur the backdrop,
without using postwork later?

Thanks in advance

Which program are you trying to use depth of field in?

Assuming you are using DAZ Studio, the Camera has parameter settings for depth-of-field on/off, the focal distance, and the f/stop. Note that f/stops in Studio don't line up with a 35mm camera, if you're used to what say, f/8 on a 85mm lens gives you from a 35mm camera. However, when you enable the depth of field option on the camera, Studio will draw fore and aft planes to give you an idea of how wide the in-focus range will be. Best way to see these is to set the viewport to the perspective camera while you have the camera selected in the scene list. Then you can observe the fore and aft planes from any camera angle as you adjust the f/stop from the parameters tab.

For setting the focal distance in a precise manner, you might consider trying my script to set focal distance based on a target Null object, located over in the Freebies section of the DAZ forums: http://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/43636/
