Poser 9 and Windows 10

Just getting back into things after about five years and everything has changed. I have the disc for Poser 9 but
it is no longer on my computer. Will Poser 9 work with Windows 10?
If the answer is yes, is there a way to bring G8 figures into it? I have some that I used the face transfer on that
I would like to see in Poser. I first started with Poser 4 but like I said everything has changed.
I can use Daz Studio but I am more comfortable with Poser. (I always have trouble with the lighting in Sudio.
I really don't want to upgrade to Poser 11 because of money situation.

There are workarounds to get G8 sorta working in Poser 11, but AFAIK not in earlier versions.

You need the latest update to Poser 9 to have it run in Windows 10, due to an issue with the Poser's 9 Flash Library,

However, Smith Micro did not give Bondware (the current owners of Poser and Renderosity) the updates to the past versions when they sold them the software.  Various users, including me, have provided the updates they had to Bondware, and they can be downloaded here:

Unfortunately, I didn't own Poser 9, and apparently neither did anyone who provided files, so if anyone has the download of any Poser updates not listed, please send a sitemail to Structure at Renderosity so it can be made available.

BTW, this is a short term fix at best, as Adobe is ending Flash support as of year-end...

  • Thanks for the info. I guess I will just have to forget Poser. Or wait until I get 99 dollars to get the upgrade to Poser 11.

  • I have Poser 9 SR3.2 - I've sent a sitemail to Structure at Renderosity to offer it to him.

The Flash problem can be worked around by various routes involving Python scripts. I use Dimension3D's XL Content Library when I'm running Poser Pro 2014. The product page says it's compatible with Poser 9 although I never tried it myself, and of course there's no support since Dimension3D is sadly no longer with us. :( It is at least cheaper than the upgrade to P11!
