Can someone post a new thread with step by step getting Blender Bridge to work?
This is maddening that the instructions are "4 easy steps", yet they gloss over many required finer points. People are already using it, so it works, but I need instructions that include all the steps because I'm missing something along the way.
So far, I've seen someone mention that you need to install the plugin within Blender, which is easily done by navigating to settings and add-ons, clicking install, and searching for blender. But after that, no idea how this magic is supposed to happen.
There apparently is supposed to be a script menu in Daz, but I don't have one. Searching my scripts folder in the Daz Studio Formats has nothing for Blender.
Please, some just post a new post detailing all the steps needed.

Did you install using DIM?
Find the folder downloaded by DIM. Tucked away in there is a zip intended to go to the AppData folder. Copy that to the Desktop. In Blender do the browsing bit for to install new plugin. Apparently it can't necessarily read inside the AppData folders.
In D/S, the bridge script is found via the Custom Actions for Scripts which is on the top header. [not in a folder]. At the bottom of the list likely. If you find it there, might want to save the layout as said Custom Actions list is a tad quirky and likes to vanish now and then.
In D/S with one figure selected, [or the one figure and its part], run the D/S to Blender script. Then in Blender open up that tiny side panel and the one for D/S. Click on the import the new G3/8 figure. Blue query bar tends to appear. Click on that, when the cursor turns into tiny numbers, wait. Then zoom out and there's the figure.
Credit and thanks goes to AllenArt for the Desktop info.
My lastest version of DIM is far outdated, so it wouldn't updated. I have DazCentral running instead. DazCentral has a Bridge area for the Blender on the Dashboard which appears to do nothing when clicking "Launch".
If you mean the "C:\Users\Public\Documents\DAZ 3D\InstallManager\Downloads" folder, I delete all the ZIP files after I install files to prevent doubling up space usage. I do not have the bridge ZIP in there.
As for Blender, I had already installed the Add-On by: Edit -> Preferences -> Add-Ons -> Armature: DazToBlender -> Install -> Check
I do not have the "Scripts" menu available on the top pulldown menu.
@Exitof I had pretty much the same problems yesterday, other than I used DIM for the install, which allowed me to see where it had put the files. I assume that your files will be in the same places though.
Using Windows Explorer, you need to go to:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\DAZ 3D\Studio4\RunOnce
On your system, USERNAME will be your own login for Windows.
Inside that RunOnce folder, there should be a file named Daz to Blender_Install.dsa - double-click that and it should add the Scripts menu and the Daz to Blender Script.
For the Blender side, use windows Explorer to navigate to:
C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\Blender Foundation\Blender\DAZ 3D Add-ons
Copy the path from the top of the explorer window, then load Blender.
Click Edit > Preferences and then click Add-ons on the left.
At the top of the window, click Install
There will be an address bar - delete what is in there and paste in the address you copied from the explorer window a few steps ago.
There should be a file in the folder named DTB_v280-283.zip - click this and then click Install Add-on at the bottom.
This should take you back to the previous window, where you can scroll to Armature:DazToBlender and put a tick in the box (this last step may not be necessary, but it didn't show up until I went back and did this - I'm a Blender novice).
From that point, the Daz video on the Daz to Blender product page will show you the process of how to use the exporter.
Sorry this is a bit long-winded, but I do hope that this helps.
That folder is empty for me, though the folder date was yesterday, so it looks like there was some activity there.
But reading the rest it seems you missed where I said that I already installed the Add-On for Blender, so the file you mentioned was most likely deleted yesterday after I install the Add-On in Blender.
No, I read all of your post, which is why I was trying to help. In the part where you said, "So far, I've seen someone mention that you need to install the plugin within Blender, which is easily done by navigating to settings and add-ons, clicking install, and searching for blender. But after that, no idea how this magic is supposed to happen." I took that to mean that someone had said that this is easily done, not that you did it easily - what you wrote was somewhat ambiguous so I thought that it would be more helpful to give a full explanation of both installs.
I did 8 minutes before you posted!
Daz to Blender Set up with Pics!
This was AMAZING!
Thank you @Dim Reaper
People keep asking the same questions but this is literally written on the product page, so I don't completely understand:
If there's something wrong here, that isn't working for you, then maybe it should be reported so it can be fixed for others. I followed this step-by-step, though, and it worked perfectly fine, so maybe I got lucky.
I'm lost at "Click on the Blender HD version of the script in the above path to run the script" I have no HD version. I have three entries under the DazToBlender script menu and HD isn't one of them.
Oh shoot I guess I DID divert from the instructions, then... on my interface I just clicked on the "export to Blender" button on the left... I suppose I was just referring to the setup part, I didn't use the instructions for the rest. Yep, I would guess that this is something they probably should correct. As far as the actual installation (the Blender side) of it, though, it worked just as described. I can verify that I see the same as you in my Scripts drop-down, however.
Great, forum lost my post. I failed to copy my comment before posting, something I normally do because too many websites are stupid and lose what you post sometimes. In this case, it flashed "logging in" and then my reply vanished.
I was simply saying that I had already successfully installed the Add-On to Blender, so that part wasn't an issue for me specifically, but thank you for detailing it as it clearly could help someone else with that step that might be reading this thread.
I did find that I have three scripts (Daz to Blender.dsa, Daz to Blender_Genital.dsa, Daz to Blender_MorphExporter.dsa) installed here:
C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\scripts\support\DAZ
I don't know if these are in the correct spot, as they are not in the content library, but I am able to double-click them from Windows and it will run the action on the selected character in Daz3D. It appears to work as it packages up everything, but nothing happens in Blender (2.82a).
I also tried to manually add the "Scripts" menu by doing the following in Daz: Window -> Workspace -> Customize -> Menus -> Main Menu Bar -> (Right-click) Add sub-menu "Scripts"
But the issue is that Blender doesn't appear in any of the actions in the Action list, so I can't add it manually.
As mentioned before, I do not have the "Scripts" menu, so that breaks this simple guide. Manually trying to create the menu doesn't work either because the Action list doesn't contain Bridge to Blender.
There was one step that I had never seen so far, and I highlighted it in green. Doing that, I now have the the ability to receive the object in Blender, but only by double-clicking the file "C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\scripts\support\DAZ\Daz to Blender.dsa" file from Windows, since the script is no where in the Daz environment that I can find.
@Exitof - It sounds like the Daz to Blender_Install.dsa script has somehow been removed from your system, or did not install in the first place. I would try doing a search for that to see if it is anywhere else and if you find it, then double-click it to add the bridges to your menus.
But, if it isn't on your system then, from what you have said, the scripts are there and working. I've tried adding something to the Daz Studio menus and can't find an easy way to add the scripts, but I have found a method of getting them there. Someone else might know a better way, but this did work on my system:
1) Load Daz Studio. In the content Library, navigate to Scripts.
2) Right-Click on Scripts > Create a sub-folder and name it Bridges
3) Right-click on your new Bridges folder > Browse to Folder location. This should open a new explorer window.
4) Open a second explorer window, and navigate to the folder that you have been using to run the scripts as you mentioned above (C:\Program Files\DAZ 3D\DAZStudio4\scripts\support\DAZ\)
5) Using left-click, then left-click+SHIFT, select the scripts:
Daz to Blender.dsa
Daz to Blender_Genital.dsa
Daz to Blender_MorphExporter.dsa
6) Copy the scripts
7) Now go to your other open window (Bridges) and Paste the scripts into there
8) Back to Daz Studio, right-click on your bridges folder and select Refresh.
You should see the three scripts appear with just default icons.
9) Right-click the first script and click Create Custom Action
You should get a pop-up which says Root Menu: Scripts and under that Submenu: /
Click Accept.
10) You should now have a Scripts menu in Daz Studio, with the first script in there. Repeat step 9 for the other 2 scripts.
Unfortunately I can not see a "tab named "DazToBlenderHD" on the right side of the Blender viewport".
I followed @duckbomb to the last two steps but now I have no idea how to go on :(
Watch closely in the tutorial video which shows how to access the Daz2Blender import button in Blender.

I don't have the "Scripts" option either. I DEFINITELY understood your post!
The Scripts>Bridges>Daz to Blender option is MISSING, genius!
When DIM updated, my scripts disappeared.
THANK YOU!! You are The Best! Worked!
Now to learn how to import shaders, textures, etc. #get pose allows you to select a pose file.
I've got the bridge working as expected now but just fyi: the highlighted part is "the" problem for many, be it a Windows thing or Blender - Blender apparently cannot read stuff in the AppData folder. Once that zip is copied over to the desktop, then Blender can read it and install the add-on.
This formatting messed up the quotes. No I was not referring to the Downloads folder, the AppData folder is a hidden folder which hidden or not, Blender apparently [as I've been told by Blender users] cannot read it.
For future reference, it is possible to not delete the folders immediately - like if one should need to look inside for some layout information.
Glad to hear you've got the tab then for Blender. I already had a custom script menu which the Blender bridges automatically added to. Maybe that makes a difference. Anyhow, hopefully you've got that fixed by now too. If not, a CS to tech support might provide a solution.
In Blender. add on's, when you hit install. There is an icon that pops up, top right. Next to the settings gear one. Which lets you show hidden folders. Now you can see the appdata folder. :)
I also had no 'Scripts' file and was unable to double click on the 'Daz to Blender_install.dsa' as suggested above as the 'Run Once' file was empty. However there is a easy solution, well it worked for me anyway, Locate your Scripts IDE file located in Window, Panes. Open it, click on the File tab scroll to 'open script' and this should open a window where your Daz to Blender.dsa script is located. Double click on it to load it into the opened 'Script IDE' in Daz then when you are ready simply press 'Execute'. Hope this works as well for others.
Hi. I'm running blender from a standalone folder It's not installed. It's one of the options you have if you just download the zip file for blender. You can make a folder, unzip everything, Make a Config folder like X:\Blender\Blender-2.93.0_Alpha\2.93\ then all the scripts, data files etc will be contained to that folder.
A few advantages are you can run several different versions of blender with out the installs stepping on each other. The down side is Your blender bridge installs Assumes that someone has blender installed normal on the C drive.
Is there anyway to change the install of the blender bridge so one can specify where blender is located? Or at least leave the zip file containing the blender add on so it can be added manually?
This was the only solution that worked for me. I had to wrestle Daz Installation Manager to get the .dsa file to stay put long enough to run 'Script IDE' in the target directory, but it worked.
You shouldn't have to grease it this hard, but thanks to Cannon_2098e796947953dfad7705144de I can get past this verkakta roadblock.
FWIW: I'm on macOS 10.15 (Catalina).
