Favorite, most versatile shaders?

Just out of curiosity, what are everybody's favorite shaders in terms of versatility, and what about them makes them stand out in your mind?

(I expect that some very good shaders may be more specialized, so I'm not asking necessarily for your overall favorite shaders, but rather those that you feel get used for a wider variety of things. Hope that makes sense.)

I expect the favorites will be different for everybody, but I'm curious as to what features I haven't thought about that people might bring up.

My favourite shader is Uber Surface 2 which gets used for just about anything that hasn't got AOA SSS shader on it.
Favorite shader presets are Destiny Gardens Toon hair shaders - its amazing how much I use them

One of the ones I find the most versatile is pwSurface. It is very easy to use once understood and offers a wide range of uses.

A Set I find used often is Pimp My Prop. A few good poly count Primitive meshes and a few of this set and you have a fast easy set. Not to mention just editing other sets.

For versatility, it's definitely either UberSurface2 or pwSurface2. They're very similar in terms of their what they can do, but they do things in slightly different ways, which gives me even greater flexibility in the end. It's hard to pick one without picking the other for that very reason.

For fun... it's pwEffect. Glowing orbs, plasma balls and ghosts are just a handful of reasons why I absolutely LOVE this shader. Ghosts takes an age to render with decent settings, but it's well worth it.

I have to agree here. pwEffect is a very fun shader. And my post from above keep in mind only pwSurface2 works in DS4.5+ so I just used pwSurface as most would use the updated version (2) in DS now.

I'm going to be the odd man out here and say Marieah's Fabricator, especially the Silkessense and Ye Old Clothe bundle. I'm a big fan of kit bashing outfits and the Fabricator shaders are a great way of disguising the joins between the various elements.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

Something that I use in almost all of my images are the shaders from the Genesis Supersuit. Even if you dont use the suit itself, the (material) shaders alone are worth the price imho. Great to boost the appearance of all clothes, shoes and other items!

When I was rendering with 3Delight still I would always use Age of Amour's metallized glass shaders and destiny garden's shader essentials.
