Currently I am working on a Modular Robot Kit. Here are a few different kinds of Robots you can make from the Kit.

I only have the Army Green texture for them but will include more texture options.

Any comments, critiques most welcome.

  • Right now I have 27 different objects to be used for creating different kinds of Robots.

Do those objects include treads, a la Johnny 5 / Wall-E?

    looks good wink

  • No treads. that is one thing I have no idea how to make. If someone knows of a tutorial to make movable animatable treads in Daz that would be great. But I looked everywear on how to do that. But have no luck.

  • I'm working on creating more texture options right now. Will have an update soon. :)

A bit off-topic, but what bloom settings are you using for those renders?

    OMG   OOMMMMGGGGGGGGGGGG

That now has enough pieces to make a whole line of these with proper customization.

    WEEELLLLLLLL Done.

Keep everything (also) as separate props and we have a kit-bashing staple.

If you can do clean and dirty or new and used/rusty textures/materials that would be the ultimate.

  • For these renders i use Octane plugin. but I can render some using only iray.

  • So this render was done only using iReay in Daz3d

The modular robot kit looks great, but additional tools would be nice to use the robot as a factory, medical or military bot and the tools should have moveable parts and special effects (for example a laser beam).

  • Good idea. Will make some symbols that can be used to create different effects. plus lazer prop for gun

  • So here is a render of the Worker Robot.

This looks awesome.  It's really great that you take suggestions and make them happen.  Instant buy.

  • Here is a Med Bot.

No offense intended, I'd be much more interested if this was a mecha modular kit.  I'll keep on dreaming.

Pretty good but I'd like to see at least a couple arm/hand attachments like, circular saw, chainsaw, hedge trimmers, scissors, etc. You've got the "cute" options covered, but I want to see the ominous side of this thing. At the very least it will need a bonesaw for surgery and subsequent organ harvesting when the surgery goes bad.

Okay, here's a model I put together for a project I'm working on. It's a Mr. Gutsy made out of parts from this kit. The eyes were a bit of a puzzler, as were the waist arms, which not only pivot, but rotate about the axis on a rail. Had to learn about nuls to pull that off. Actually, there are quite a few nulls in this thing. Each arm is on one, as is each eyeball, and a central one for the eyestalks.
