Here is the same setup, with the "white tags" on either side of the top of the thighs.
Rectangular in shape, from rear to halfway toward the front.

V5 UV setting using Bree default texture.
Same thing happens, also on the upper lip

After some experimentation, I found that it was the UV map not being set to V5. I was able to go through the entire process and create a custom skin, etc. This is a fascinating program!

Which leads me to two questions:
Zev0 - will you consider adding/incorporating/offering the means of utilizing the V6 map in the future? I don't understand why there are 2 versions of Skin Changer - one for G1 v5 and another for G2F.

Anyone - Is there a way to convert a V6 map to V5?

Did I say already, I love this? :)

After many tests I can say, the only fact I do not like about the product is the flooding of DAZ temp folder with single textures for each surface and the resulting long script working time and long loading times of characters and scenes.
My workaround is to take the finished materials out of the temp folder, save the TIFs and add them manually to a figure (grouped in face, torso and limbs) and then saving as material preset.
Maybe there could be a future product update changing the behaviour of saving the materials?

Another render, this time 3Delight ^^

The reason I did not make this on V6 UV is because there simply is not enough V6 skin sets on the market. Most character products for Genesis 2 Female use the Base skin UV. Also if made on V6 or another, that means that people who use Genesis 1 would not be able to use the product. V5 UV between the two figures is still the most popular texture sets next to V4 UV. Developing this on V4 UV was a not an option because of the bad stretching it causes on extreme shapes specially on the breast and thigh areas. V5's handles that a lot better. So it was simply a matter of finding the common ground.

If you wish to convert the sets yourself to another UV, you can use Map Transfer Tool which comes free in DAZ Studio:)

Very Nice render:) Unfortunately that is how the scripts, LIE and DAZ work, so changing the format is not up to me or Draagonstorm. But if we find an easier method, we will research it:)

Thanks, Zev0. I understand the logistics of it all.
So, if I have a Genesis Base UV, it should function normally?

And thanks for the tip on the Map Transfer Utility.
    I shall check it out.

No, it will only function if the UV layout is set to V5 on the figure. The products skin mapping is designed only on that. If the UV setting is anything else, the maps will not line up.

I found some old V4 makeups I bought for V4 thinking I would try to make characters. I really want to use these things but was having a very hard time finding a skin texture set to use them with. Thanks for making this product! I have G1 and G2 and I did not want to be using a V4 base and have to edit those files for use with V4 skins and a G2 skin. But I have a question, earlier you said most characters in the market place are based off of a base texture, what base texture? I can't seem to find a G1 market resource for skin, looks like everyone used V4 skins which do not work on G2 with out buying add-ons and converting things. Did I miss something? What is this base texture you speak of? I'm nowhere near good enough to make anything for sale, but I promise I will be making characters with the skin builder (As soon as I see a paycheck...). One day I may want make something for the market place and have to learn to skin something. Right now the Skin Builder Pro will save me tons of money and let me learn a little bit more. I confess I had three characters I was going to buy to get different ethnic tones and this is soooo much better. But I am curious as to what base texture is legal to edit and use in the marketplace. Am I assuming correctly that the M5 V5 skin overlays can not be used on a character made for sale or free? Sometimes you see free head and full body morphs on sharecg and nobody can skin them. With Skin Builder Pro at least I could use these freebies. I will be sad I can't dream of selling something one day, but thrilled to have so many options available for my personal use.

By Base I meant the Base UV map that comes with the figure. Most build sets on that instead of figure specific UV's like Gia etc. And no freebies are to be made with Skin Overlay or Skin Builder. However if you wish to sell, Skin overlay has a merchant resource version.

I was wondering. I'll just offer the morph for a freebie and tell them to get this for skin. I love this, I have never seen a product that does what this does. I will be one of those people hoping for alien add-ons and things. I can't seem to have enough things like makeup, eyebrows, etc either. And for the males too!!! Maybe a facial hair room? I hope enough people buy this so we can see those add-ons. The price is really outstanding for everything you get with it.

Freckles and moles are part of the Skin Overlay package. There are two versions. One with presets, and the other is a merchants resource which contain Photoshop psd files for manual application.

I got both because I got the merchant resource thinking it would also have the presets, but of course it did not, so I got the presets also.

This is a really useful product but I'm getting some obvious seams when rendering using it, I've checked the UV and its set to V5, my render settings are the usual ones I use, is there a way to solve this,
    Thanks

Out of curiosity - I've played around with the tool for a bit and am thus far really liking what I'm seeing - but I appear to be unable to find the tutorial. Did I miss a post in this thread that indicated where it would be found?

Thanks in advance for any help. :)
