I always love those complex scenes where everyone knows where they're going and no one but the hero ever seems to crash. I'm pretty sure it's why we don't have flying cars yet. My last Flying vehicle was the SRV which had a ton of detail inside and out and is great for being the center of attention. This set, I'm working on making low poly forms around or under 10K with two sets of maps to choose from, 4K or 1K. So distant cars look great but are less filling.

The test render went so well I'm going with it for my promos.

Will this set include a multipass?

Funny- how many times I've thought about air traffic.

Is that cab a separate product? - because that in high detail would be awesome.

I also hope you do some pose configurations, like a long line of instances or something.....some kind of formation to load a bunch of traffic vehicles at once...

Grouped so they can be moved together, easily....

Ah, this reminded of a freebie from Stonemason that I have as referenced here:   https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/168276/attn-stonemason  and in particular:  3.I did make some skytraffic greebles many years ago, they we're just strings of ships that had easy-pose controls but worked realy well as distant objects..I don't have a copy here but if anyone else does they are welcome to pass it on to you. you can see them in action here:

You can see them in the header: https://www.artstation.com/stefan_morrell

Good Idea on the pre loaded instances. The Taxi has two LIE textures and a second skin that creates a black sedan. This version though is under 15k polygons. You can get real close but you cant get inside. I would totally due a more detailed one if enough people wanted one.

Yes this does come with a Multi Pass. And a LIE texture to match, at least for now.

nemesis10, Yeah they go back to when moebius87 was doing all those really cool city models. Still a great Idea. These are more for mid scene but detailed maps. here is a better look at the cab and the same body as the Sedan.

  • Looks awesome - there's always a need for sky-traffic in futuristic scenes yes

Thanks! I'm working out some kinks on a light truck cab that I hope will have at least 3 or 4 designs depending on what it's pulling. And a smaller sports two seater with color variants and maybe a shape change. This way the traffic will feel more real and not like There's only one company making two styles.

There were other vehicles crashing in The Fifth Element, most notably the police car through the McDonald's sky-cargo truck... and if you don't have one of those in the set, I shall be very disapointed.

I would love to recreate to whole scene but legal would shut me down. So you have to intensionally shift and change things without loosing the spirit. I hope all is well as is.

I did a scene like you describe a while back, and the only product so far that does something like that, is the old TraffiKar by Deci6el. So yeah, more flavour and more variation is very welcome!

    image

Just a shot of the scene I made, since it was a 1 GB HDRI I made with it. laugh

But, it gives an idea what can be done with it and how we could always use a lot more variation.

    Multi-Pass!

Very cool scene! I made a food truck not the Golden arches for obvious reasons still low poly but has an interior and you can open a window and put a guy in it. also the red bowl is a removeable prop. Other food can go there and just use clear glass. I need to finish this one, mission creep.

Getting ready to send this out to Daz. I hope folks get the idea of the cars and trucks looking different from each other. Even Daz may call me out for that. But that's what I what for more realism so I hope everyone is onboard. Just finished the texture presets.

Every item/Prop has 4 options. 4K Iray Maps, 1K Iray maps, 4K 3Delight option and 1K 3Delight option. That last option renders in seconds.

I'd like to take this idea further, but it's all up to you folks. ; )

Here's a speedster. Comes in 7 colors with Lite or Dark chrome.

Awesome, that would actually look pretty decent in the foreground as well!
Is the canopy a seperate object or surface, so people could kitbash some interior into it as well? (I don't want to further add to your workload, and I do have some more elaborate ideas how I could accomplish such a thing anyway)

Otherwise, it'll always be an option to release some specialized versions of them later, or license another capable designer to do create them.

Its on it's own Material. I was thinking the same way as you. This round though I'm trying not to get caught up on interiors offering more vehicles with this set. With the 4096x4096 maps loaded you see all the welds and scratches when you get close. This model is 12,400 polygons, which is just a number, as a reference point Genesis 3 Male has 67,300 polygons ( all well spent ). So 5.5 cars would still render faster because they use only two sets of maps. Of course instancing an object works, but change the color of one and you change the color of all.

Here's the 3Delight maps 4096x4096 for comparison which look pretty good to me as well. I didn't use any tricks or special lighting just took a shot of the same car with the 3DL maps.

Griffin Avid I feel like I owe you an appology! devil The way Daz runs sales on top of sales I didn't even know it was possible. My cars are in Traffic of their own I hope they open up a new lane soon. Check for a Message.

Hey Good news, It's alive! I mean it's live.

Big Sci Fi weekend with a lot of new toys. I hope you enjoy the superbowl from your low earth orbiting platform or might I suggest your own flying car. ; )

Nemesis 10 Very Cool! The wall works well too, so now I need to do a decked out hover bike. ; )

I was pretty sure that that your Sci Fi Wall is a mus have with the Sky Traffic!

  • Picked this up today.

And it suffers from the same disease -   the infects all the products TheAntFarm creates...

They branch outward and you want more and more.

I want MORE vehicles and trucks and more floating goodies.....

I'd like to see you do some city greebles.

Random Sci-Fi doodads, just straight random devices.

A box with cables coming out. Sci-Fi gadgets for kitbashing.....

    ----------------

I would like to see a full cab with insides and opening doors, trunk, hood etc....wheeled version and without, but I think all of us would just be recreating scenes from 5th Element and Heavy Metal.

But yeah, if I had a vote, City Greebles for sure...

    Congrats on this release.

I'm curious if anyone would want a close up, working version of the Cab/Sadan. This set has done well and I'd like to add to the vibe of it. Sometimes though it's helpful to know what it was that you liked in the first place. If it was low poly fllying cars, it may have been a "One and done" and I get that. So I have some input already, thank you, but it would be great to collect more if anyone would be willing to give some input.

I would definitely be into that. This render was my first time using Sky Traffic, and the centerpiece was going to be one of your cars, but then I actually looked at them up close and realized it wouldn’t work for what I was trying to do.

I think higher resolution versions of the vehicle would be a fantastic idea. They'd also be handy just on their own.
