Additional Notes: Got to use a lot of Carrara's main features - Hair (grass), Plant modeler, Vertex modeler, Clouds, Text. Plugins included Blimps and Cutouts, Ivy, and GMIC. No postwork.

Additional Notes: Almost everything was made and rendered in Carrara with some post work separating the foreground from the background and processing the background. Crown on the top of the flagpole is a Text object, a 'C' using "Brush Script" with an Aura added to it. Flag text was done in an external editor.

Thanks to everyone for participating in the Carrara 50th Challenge! I learned a lot, and I hope that you did too.
There were some especially superb Garden images. It was by far the most hotly contested category, as a whopping 76% of the main category votes went to those images.
Without further ado, the winners are:
Overall - Headwax. It seems somehow fitting that he wins the 50th.
His 4 renders got just enough total votes to put him on top.
Garden - Vyusur. A popular choice. At times it appeared to be a runaway, but she barely squeezed past Varsel (by a single vote).
50 - Stezza's Wacky Party.*
Wild Card - UnifiedBrain's Zero Hour.*
Funniest - UnifiedBrain's In The Beginning.
(*There were ties in both the 50 and Wild Card categories. The fairest way to break the ties (to me) was to consider the overall number of votes in the 3 main categories (not including funniest). In the 50 category tie (a 3-way), Stezza had more votes in all categories. In the Wild Card category tie, I did).
PA award for "most representative of Carrara" render - #9, Wacky 50th Partaay by Stezza.
PhilW commented on his selection process - "It was extremely difficult - there are at least half a dozen images that I consider worthy of the prize (all from different artists), and by the time I narrowed it down to three, I was really struggling with which one to choose. In the end my choice for the PA Prize is image #9 - Wacky 50th Partaaaaaay by Stezza. I chose it because it has real impact as an overall image, it conveys a party atmosphere really well and links to the 50th Carrara competition in an original and amusing way. And with all of the objects and complexity modelled in Carrara, it is a very impressive achievement and a great advert for what can be done in Carrara. But all of the artists who contributed should consider themselves as winners as the standard was very high."
