Converting M4 to Duf Format

Finally got my new computer set up and was trying some things.
I have the Askan character from Rendo. I have M4 for Genesis 2, M4 auto skin converter, etc.
I was able to convert the skin with no problem. Using the auto converter it was actually quite nice. I even have the Genesis shapes for Genesis 2 and that worked great also.
The problem is when it came to the Gens. I understand that it has to be in DUF format to apply to Genesis 2. So I loaded M4 with Gens and applied the Askan gen texture to M4. I selected M4's bits in the surface tab and saved as a material preset.
I then selected the Genesis 2 apparatus and thought I applied the previously saved preset and you know what? Nothing happened. Same gray texture. So I know I'm missing the boat some where.
I'm sad to admit I have been working on this for hours lol. I feel like jumping out of the window but I live on the ground floor so it wouldn't do much good. I've been reading and researching a lot but just don't get it.
I'm working on recreating my lost characters and trying my hand at making them into Genesis 2 instead of using the older stuff.
Any suggestions? Thanks.

For that you need the Shape of M4 for G2M. It adds the UV so your new DUF will load to the G2M figure. The G2's do not auto use the Gen4 textures.
Is that something different than "Michael 4 for Genesis 2 Male"? I have that product as well as the M4 Skin Auto Converter. And I'm looking to see what else. I don't have the Generation 4 Legacy Shapes for Genesis 2 but it says, "*Note: This set contains only head and body shapes. It does not include UVs for skin textures or AutoFit clones for clothing." so I didn't think I needed that one.
Be sure you've selected the "M4mapped" UV set on the genitals after applying and see if that fixes your issue. Unfortunately, I don't have any M4 genital textures to try myself, but I can't see why they shouldn't work in the same way as M4 body textures.
Thanks. I have my first figure converted. It looks ok. The main problem I was having was the pelvis region for some reason wasn't taking the textures. So now that I have it done I'm going to make a cheat sheet. Maybe experimenting with saving so if I make another character based upon same skin type see how much I'll have to do it again. Although this process doesn't take long (after figuring it out for hours on end lol) so if I need to do each character from scratch it'll be ok.
With all of the computer experience I have (30+ years), this stuff makes me feel like an absolute idiot. LOL.
Oh well it's fun learning and being sick it helps pass the time.
