texturing fails when importing carrarra made model into D/S

I started using carrarra 3 long years ago because it was what I could afford at the time  I still use it almost daily but the Daz Studio 4.11 and 4.12 versions will not map a jpeg onto the model the way D/S 4.10 did. What "trick" am I missing? I really don't want to have to paint a texture map for simple objects that texture well in Carrarra 8.5 and used to texture great in older versions of Daz Studio. I would love some help.

    You would need to load any exported texture maps under surfaces if they don't load automatically 

    DAZ studio likes them in the same folder as the object

    is Carrara exporting textures, there are several options there too you can choose

    How are you moving your objects from Carrara to DS - Obj or something else?

    Are you exporting texture maps with the objects? If so, have you located and assigned them in DS?

    Do the objects have UVs?

    Are you using procedural shaders in Carrara? (these are unlikely to work in DS)

    DS4.12 defaults to Iray uber shader on imported objects, but otherwise I'm unaware of significant differences going back as far as 4.10 (I frequently create assets in Carrara for use in DS)
