This product finally has been finished. I am writing user's guide and upload the installation package for review once it is complete.
Pleas see the sample images for the features of Nylon Pantyhose :-)

I've no interest in sexy pantyhose, so does this product offer the kind of hose a real working woman would wear (nurse, waitress, etc) or what she would buy for her daughter? (Edit: Hose with plain, integrated pants?)

Is this a kind of Second Skin texture, a geometry shell or actual mesh?

I would imagine that it's the along the lines of the PAs Nylon Stockings set in the store.

    Looking forward to this!

They look really nice.  The squeeze in the promos looks very well done, like the nylon stockings.

I'm pretty sure most working women wear underwear that's not integrated into their pantyhose, unless they work in porn or got dressed in a hurry, of course.  These appear to have an optional reinforced "shorts" area.  The cutaways are optional, as well.

  • This is exactly what I'm looking for, especially the tearing feature! Can't wait to see it!

  • Hopefully it's still alive as the PA hasn't posted any updates since the original post.

The thing about this coming in a future update was a bit odd.  Better to wait until it's feature-complete and release an awesome item than release a work in progress, no?

Looks nice, though I'd prefer to see a version that was set up for both G8f and G3F out of the box.

Still can't tell whether this is a second skin or a geo-shell or a separate mesh. The disadvantage of the mesh is that I have never seen a perfect fit - they tend to show a gap to the skin or poke through but rarely fit precisely. The disadvantage of the second-skin texture is that they are just that: textures. No ability to morph them, roll them down or stretch them in any manner.

Fantastic options and great detail. Beautiful work that matches the quality of your nylon stockings: https://www.daz3d.com/nylon-stockings-for-genesis-3-and-8-females

Do you know how to make second-skin textures and the gelo-Shell world in DAZ Studio 4. X?

Or any tutorial that can helps a begginer like me?

Do you know how to make second-skin textures meshs and geoshell? Do you know of any tutorials that would help a beginner like me create these features in DAZ Studio or Blender or Hexagon?

  • I finally got these because they looked amazing. They ARE amazing, however, after much testing, there are a few fatal flaws which greatly dissapointed me.

1st) Theres a seam running on the inside of the legs from heel to heel. Thats my main issue because theres no way for me to fix it. These look great at a distance, and even close up, as long as the inside of the legs or feet are not shown. Bottom line, the texture doesn't match up which creates the seam. Thats my biggest issue.

2nd) its a dse file not a dof. I'm not a computer genius, but from what I've deduced, the whole thing is strictly a script, which I have no clue about. LOL

3rd) You can't edit the texture/pattern. I'm presuming because of #2. Again, I was hoping maybe if I applied a tileable shader, that would get rid of the seam. It just applies the shader with the texture still there. I also tried to adjust verticle and horizontal tiling, and nothing happened.

The interface is easy to use and I like the abilities one has with these. And they fit really close which is a huge plus. If the seam was fixed, (removed) I'd be much happier.  The seam issue may not be important to others, but to me its a distraction because pantyhose don't have seams there.

    1-10, I rate a 7. Remove the seam and I'd rate a 9. Make it editable and it would get a 10.

I recall buying the REAL PANTYHOSE set from Renderosity several years ago and the creator included a text file acknowledging the problem of the inner leg seam and said something to the effect that it is a result of the UV mapping space for the Genesis 8 figure. If you look at the textures used for GF8 (BELOW) you will see the seam matches the UV map for the legs. For the body texture you see no seam because the color matches  at that border. It seems (no pun intended) the seam appears when applying the pattern map for the pantyhose. I'm not sure why an artist couldn't create a texture map that appears seamless, but I'm not experienced with UV mapping techniques and solutions. ... I would note that you CAN access the texturing of the pattern by accessing the PATTERN LAYER in the SCENE tab underneath the main NYLON PANTYHOSE. You can then go to the SURFACES tab and see how the artist has set up the texture mapping. I have created my own opacity map so I can create my own patterns, including tears, holes and nylon weaves. The only issue I have is the same problem you have found -- the seam that appears inside the legs running up from the ankle. Given that this seam appears in other products suggests to me that it may be unavoidable. Hopefully some of the real experts can chime in and give us a fuller explanation.

    Thanks Doc..

Yeah, I've had issues with the seam before, including skin mats. But there are others out there that DONT have the seam, so I know it can be done. I'm not even sure what this is. I'm not fluent if all file types. I know I can't load just the pantyhose into the scene like I can the thigh highs. What I noticed is that the texture pattern went in one direction from the front, and a different direction from the back (of the legs) . Actually, both going up to create a ^ at the seam point.

I'll check out your suggestion in the surface tab and see what I can do. If I can come up with a small enough texture, maybe it won't show. As I said, these are amazing so I'm hoping something can be figured out.

@iwave Nylon Pantyhose for Genesis 8 Female (s) has a bug. It does not contain nylon pantyhose 00 Apply Pantyhose.duf. Please fix the download.

@iWave: I installed the update yesterday (April 8, 2021) and now I see "Missing Files" problems reloading previously saved scenes with G8F characters:

    data/daz 3d/genesis 8/female/morphs/iwave/nylon pantyhose/nylonpantyhosewaistsqueezinghd1.dsf
    data/daz 3d/genesis 8/female/morphs/iwave/nylon pantyhose/nylonpantyhosewaistsqueezinghd2.dsf
    data/daz 3d/genesis 8/female/morphs/iwave/nylon pantyhose/nylonpantyhosewaistsqueezinghd3.dsf

This is from a scene with a single G8F character and IRC I never used the Nylon Pantyhose product on that character (it was on another character now deleted from the scene.)  On examination of what has happened I see that the whole directory /data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 8/Female/Morphs/iWave seems to have been removed; all I can find is:

    /data/iWave/Nylon Pantyhose/Nylon Pantyhose/Morphs/iWave/Base/alias_Nylon Pantyhose_4141_NylonPantyhoseWaistSqueezingHD1.dsf
    /data/iWave/Nylon Pantyhose/Nylon Pantyhose/Morphs/iWave/Base/alias_Nylon Pantyhose_4141_NylonPantyhoseWaistSqueezingHD2.dsf
    /data/iWave/Nylon Pantyhose/Nylon Pantyhose/Morphs/iWave/Base/alias_Nylon Pantyhose_4141_NylonPantyhoseWaistSqueezingHD3.dsf

Those alias files see to be all that remains; the .dsf and .dhdm files from the previous versions are not being installed and /data/DAZ 3D does not exist.  This looks like an error, given that the alias files still exist.

Also, what happened with the torn up textures that should have come with an update? Those were the main draw for me, and it's quite miffing that there has been no word about them (unless I missed it).

The only difference in the manifest is the removal of the three .dhdm waist squeeze morph files and the corresponding .duf.  I have a Nylon Pantyhose 00 Apply Pantyhose script and it works.  I don't recall there being a .duf before - the whole product is script driven.

When I open the style settings window it's longer than the screen and I can't adjust the window by picking the edge and dragging
