How do I use the Timeline Shortcuts?

I was wondering if Carrara had any usable timeline shortcuts, for things like PLAY/PAUSE, go forward/back one frame, and so forth. I've seen the PDF on shortcuts on Carrara Cafe, but can't seem to get them working. I'm using the Windows version if it makes a difference.

I'm lokoing for a way to navigate the timeline primarily and its associated tools, such as quickly change from the zoom tool to the arrow/picker tool, and to start/stop playback with audio.
