Alternative D/S SSS Shader for FW Dan

I have decided to create an Alternative Shader for the D/S SSS mat for my Dan character (http://www.daz3d.com/fw-dan-megapack).
This shader is to allow a better render result when using bright lights, especially strong sunlight.

Before installing this new shader it is important to delete the old SSS BaseMat shader first. Only the BaseMat shader in the SSS folder, NOTHING else.
Then install this and you’ll find you now have two options. The old SSS Base shader and the new SSS Alternative shader.

The way to use this new shader is simple. Apply BaseMat, Tattoos, Hair etc… options. Then go back to the folder with the SSS BaseMat and hit the AltShader button… and done!
If you want to use any of the nail colours it is best to add after the AltShader is applied as they look best that way.

Any questions, just give me a shout.

You can download the AltShader here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ajtaa005j56dmin/FWDanMegapack_AltShader.zip

Please remember FW Dan is required for it to work.

Happy rendering

Fred :)

    Thanks :)
I personally prefer the one that comes with it as I do more mood renders in ds myself, but especially in strong sunlight the new one should be better to keep the skin looking the way it should. so just try which one you prefer, and have fun :)

It's really easy in DS. I can do you a little screen print if you like.

Thanks for the AoA material files.

And thanks for putting up the screengrab--I was confused about what to delete not realizing it was four files and not one.

Just a note. I usually do my deleting stuff with Explorer in Windows but decided to do it from within Studio (about time, I guess). I opened Studio, deleted those four using the Content panel, then since that's all I wanted to do for now inside Studio (will install the new files using Explorer and play later) I closed Studio.
    And Studio crashed. LOL

No harm, of course, since it crashed on closing. Hope that isn't a harbinger of what's in store for me for the rest of the day. I submitted a bug report since we should be able to delete files from within studio without access violations.

Hope it will be of use.

and yeah I usually do my deletions in the actual folders directly as well (after all i am so used to those due to building my own runtimes all the time... ), but that can be a bit confusing to explain at times, so I thought this was the easiest way to show it.

and nothing more annoying as a program playing up when you just wanna do something quick.

Anyway, hope you're having fun rendering and any questions, let me know.
