  • I've tried this a few times with various restarts, but I get this error with G8M selected in my log:

I got some updates installed today, and now it looks like the G3F to G8F hair converter doesn't work for me either (it previously did).

I don't think I changed anything? I know there were lots of updates today for your scripts, which I downloaded. But I hadn't tried the converter products in a few weeks.

Yeah, I copied over the fixed Foot Poser dialog (from the upcoming Clothing Converter V4->G8F) and the improved Daz clothing item search (from the Hair Converter G3F->G8F) to all the converter scripts.  That should not have affected this.

Are the new updates working for others?

  • I just installed G8M and the hair converter script only to a second computer. No problems. So...it's gonna suck trying to figure out why it won't work on my main rendering comp.

Huh.  Sorry for the inconvenience, but I am glad you got it working.

Not sure why this is happening as the Female hair converter worked fine.

The male hair converter is getting the Y translate wrong as the convertered hair is located in the middle of the figures head.

Anyone else running into this issue?

    Log shows no errors.

Bizarre.  Anyone else seeing this problem?  Have you restarted Daz and tried again?

Worked OK for me. I converted all the Hairs that were in the Hair folder under Genesis 3 Male. I have several of the converters but this is the first one I actually tried to run. I read through the pdf first and then I just gave it a go. I kept the defaults and just selected the folders I wanted to convert and told it where to pu them. While it was running, there were times that the panel disappeared, and then it would come back. I also saw that the hair was above G8 Male in the scene. But after it was done, I tried using several of the hairs and they all worked perfectly. Now it's on to the clothes.

    Excellent!  Thanks for sharing.

Yes, occasionally, the panel will disappear.  This is because the script is working hard and starving the GUI refreshes of clock cycles.  Eventually, there is a GUI update and you see it again.  This is normal behavior.

Okay I have restarted the PC and deleted the existing converted hair files.

Used M8 & converted Genesis 3 Male Hair directory.

    Same result?

Huh.  Is this for all converted hair?

Does it matter if you use M8 or Genesis 8 Male? Are they considered the same? I think the pdf said to load Genesis 8 Male, so that is what I used.

    I see Mouser used M8.

Looks like your correct, most of the hair files convert with the default Genesis 8 figure.

Though one (Cage Casual Waves) still doesnt all of the rest convert okay.

My DS setup was for V8 or M8 by default and the other converters worked with characters just fine.

    But this works, thanks;)

Wow, nice catch @KevinH.  I thought the M8 was just for showing the hair, not the conversion.

Yes, you must always use the plain vanilla G8M or G8F.

Has anyone tried converting any of RedzStudio hair, I tried converting his executive hair but it won’t convert, maybe because of how it’s made?

  • carrie58carrie58 Posts: 3,983

I tried converting the Vintage Male Hair , had to unparent all the parts and save them seperately ,
