    Here is the log:

17:39:08 GMT-0800 (Pacific Standard Time): Executing Script

    17:39:08 GMT-0800 (Pacific Standard Time): Selecting Preset: D:\Beta Library\People\!!Heroes\RAMWorks\SuperSuit Set\SuperSuit.duf

17:39:08 GMT-0800 (Pacific Standard Time): Input Filename does not have "clothing" in its path: D:\Beta Library\People\!!Heroes\RAMWorks\SuperSuit Set\SuperSuit.duf

17:39:08 GMT-0800 (Pacific Standard Time): Input Filename does not have "accessories" in its path: D:\Beta Library\People\!!Heroes\RAMWorks\SuperSuit Set\SuperSuit.duf

17:39:09 GMT-0800 (Pacific Standard Time): Execution Complete.

Why does it need "clothing" in the path to convert?  Seems strange to me.  It's an obj being refitted to another obj basically.

If I must add this to a path, what path, what file?  I have an entire folder for this suit and it's additional components like gloves, boots, cape, mask and the like... so to move forward I need this info so I can get this done.

    Thank you

The "Clothing" or "Accessories" is needed in the path to allow the script to figure out how to create the subfolders in the output directory.  Usually, the script will see something like D:\Beta Library\People\Genesis\Clothing\RAMWorks\SuperSuit Set\SuperSuit.duf and go, "I need to put this item in the OUTPUT DIRECTORY\Clothing\RAMWorks\SuperSuit Set\SuperSuit.duf "

So if I just move the lot from the Heroes folder to the People>Genesis>Clothing folder it should work then?

    Yes, it should work.

OK, worked but have to say that the auto fit worked better for me than your script.  :-(

Skin tight type garments are slightly more problematical anyway, but this looks like it is an error in the script.  I hope to fix it this weekend.  If you message me your email, when/if I get a fix, I can send it to you and let you try it.

  • There is an error in the script, which affects both the female and male versions of the product.  The transfer rigging-figure space step is not happening in the script (except for footwear) Fixing this DRAMATICALLY improves gloves, bodysuits, anything on the extremities of the figures.  The reason why it's noticable for males compared to the females product is that G8 male has large shoulders and arms, placed higher up, than Genesis.  The shape difference with the arms/shoulders of G8 Female is substantially less.  We are doing some internal testing right now.  If it pans out, I will post the fix immediately as it looks like it is only one file and you would need the products to use it and then submit an official patch for Daz.  You will need to reconvert shirts with arms, gloves, and bodysuits.  I apologize for the error.

I tried conversion for the bodysuit to G8F and it was almost successful - the body was pretty good (close to perfect after adding a smoothing modifier) but parts of the head(face) areas not so good. Don't know whether this fix will help?

Why don't you try it out?  I just posted the fix to the first post of the thread smiley

Ah, thank you - I'll try it as soon as I can!

And the answer is: the feet and hands fit better with the fix (as you probably expected) but the face mask is still a problem - I guess because the bodysuit conformer-thing doesn't cover the face?

Anyway I think the Genesis Supersuit is a bit of a problem altogether because it's a bit too clever for it's own good. A smoothing modifier helps with any body poke-through but entirely ruins the head parts because they are built to morph outside or inside the head depending on the style chosen and the smoother modifier drags those inside bits back to the outside! So the converter doesn't offer much improvement over autofit for this particular garment - not a problem with your product (which I love) but with this particular and rather peculiar garment.

Did you also play with the morphs for the face?  Sickleyield added morphs to pull out the front of the face, etc.

Yes I tried those, but couldn't get a good-looking result. The style presets for the Supersuit which don't cover the face look fine though. I've decided to ignore the superhero-type ones with face masks (or just use them on a Genesis figure) and move on to other things that work well.

I'm about one tenth of the way through my Genesis wardrobe converting products starting with each letter of the alphabet then testing the results, fiddling with metadata where needed, reconverting where necessary,... so I have plenty to do, most of which is working just fine.

Ok.  Well, not everything was going to be perfect.  I'm sorry it didn't work for your supersuit.  I am glad you like the product though!  smiley

Well, I hope you like this version better.  @MelanieL has been trying with the supersuit.  It seems to work except for the face area.

Well the "fix" goes through the motions and then when I dismiss the dialog there is G8M still standing there naked.  surprise

third try, same results.  Looks like the suit flashes for a second onto the body but it just goes *poof* .... wish there was a way to make the dialog transparent during the process or have it minimize during the process so you can see what's going on.

Please post the log.  That always helps.

RAMWolff I know this is a dumb question but after you run the script did you go to the folder where you told the script to put the converted clothing and then load it on G8?

  • RAMWolffRAMWolff Posts: 10,212

I'm such a dork.  Not sure why I thought it would actually convert the suit and then load it to the figure... but it's still not fitting him correctly.  Just like the screen grab above, exactly actually and this is after I put the new file where I was told to put it so not sure about this... Here is the log file:

No. The converter converts your clothes to use later. smiley  Nothing is left on the character.

If it is *exactly* like the picture above, then the new file is not being used.   Based on the log, the conversion was done.  This looks like the log in the log tab.  If you edit RSCCConstants.dsa, and change the output_debug to true from false:

    output_debug = true

This will add a LOT of messages to the Daz log file.  If you post that, I will have a lot more information.

Deleted the converted suit, tried again and still the same issue.

I put the new file you posted in the beginning of your thread here: D:\DAZ3D Content\data\RiverSoft Art\Common

    Maybe I got that wrong.

To be honest your instructions for a more replete log file makes no sense to me so I don't know how to do what you want me to do there.

If the log file produced for DAZ Studio is of help here it is below, there is all the info in there from the conversion..

Ok, it is converting.  But if it is exactly like your picture from above:

Then the fix is NOT getting called (the sleeves would fit much better).  I would search your system for multiple versions of RSGenesisClothingConversionFunctions.dse.  One of the old ones is being called.

  • BTW, if you are installing with Daz Connect, it won't let you overwrite the file.  You will have to wait until the official patch.

Doing a search now for this RSGenesisClothingConversionFunctions.dse file.....

OK, just showing one file. See the screen grab...

I think I know what happened now.. the fix you uploaded here was not named RSGenesisClothingConversionFunctions.dse, it was some numerical bit.  So now I've renamed the file to RSGenesisClothingConversionFunctions.dse and placed the old one on the desktop.  i'll run the script again and see if it's working as expected now...

  • RAMWolffRAMWolff Posts: 10,212

Works fine now but one thing I'm noticing.. the sleeves and the ankles and I'm guessing the rest of the suit is sort of loose on the figure!  Should be skin tight...

See the screen grab below.. I set the opacity slight down on the forearm surface settings to show what I'm talking about...
