Get ready to create some cool Rock'n'Roll art this coming Holiday season. Being released real soon is my Wurlie Electric Organ. The prop is rigged to the teeth and will allow you to set up any note or chord you want to set it up for. There is a full bank of tone sliders and switches to add to the detail of your artwork. I have set the bones and posing structure up for easy use/navigation. Having two tiers of keys as well as foot pedals, they have all been aranged in both tiers and octave banks when expanded in the Scene Tab. It allows you to only need to expand the banks/tiers you're working with. It has been packaged with it's own speaker that has a leads and presets set up for both back facing and forward facing scenarios. The music stand is separate and can be removed or left off, allowing for the top to be closed flat. Included is a stool with rigged lid and a height adjustment for easy adaptation to different shaped/sized characters.

...and if you like this, get ready. In the wings, I got something real cool following close behind. Hows your thoughts on a vintage electric guitar that is set up to play, bend, press and slide on every note? Óh..., and my take on one of the best vintage amplifiers ever made (fully rigged)? Just tidying up the details and that set is on it's way also.

In the mean time, I do hope you get to enjoy my Wurlie Electric Organ. ...as a musician myself, it was made with a lot of love.

Enjoy :)

I must say she's a beauty! Guess it would be too much to ask for 3DL mat presets, but I hope there are enough maps/mat zones provided to make conversion possible;) I also would love a leslie cabinet, any plans of looking into it? And YES a guitar with poseable strings would be an instant buy!

Hi Sven, Thank you for the feedback. It has been packaged with Iray presets. But this product was painted and there are texture images on all the surfaces (no shaders as such). Converting to 3DL shouldn't be a big problem. RiverSoftArt has a great Iray to 3DL converter. Very time saving approach to what you are asking about.

As for the Leslie, ...Got it covered ;) ...and it's fully rigged with open back presets and leads to hook it up to this organ when it's done. For licencing reason I couldn't call it a Leslie. But you will love my take on the 147 that's inside it and useable as a standalone. Here's a sneak at what's in the pipeline. :)

That's great news, shouldn't be a problem at all then;)

Looks great. Would be interesting even more, if somebody would add the script to actually play music from the notes in it.

I am not a musician, but have bought a script to Unity, that analyse the sounds and create midi notes out of them.

Wish, I would be more advanced with programming in Unity, as for now.

  • Impressive.  I am wondering how you managed to rig it accurately enough with the tools available in DS, as I am struggling to rig a mechanical figure with precision positions  for the bone center and end points such that the parts will move as required.

Thanks for that. Hey, don't be discouraged. DS is quite a cool tool for rigging etc. A tip, If I was creating what you are struggling with, I'd just bridge it to my modeling software (ie, Hexagon) and take a note of those accurate co-ordinates you are wanting to reference and work around. For the most part, if time is not an issue, just trust your eyes. If it's weight mapped okay, You will see where it's not doing so well and just adjust things as you go. Just a tip, as soon as (and each time) you get it closer to the mark, hit the memorize. The easy way, just type in the XYZ co-ordinate you want in the joint editor, align it and it's mission accomplished in no time at all, well, in minimal time ...in DS.

All the best on your project/s. Trust me, every project presents it's struggles of some sort. Same time, you'll have an equal share of epiphanies! Just keep at it. :)

  • Thanks for the tips and encouragement!  I had eventually modeled small planes at each position I wanted bone center/end points, and imported these to DS, then aligned a plane created in DS with each of these to get the exact coordinates to copy to the Joint Editor.  Using Blender, so no 'bridge', just OBJ export/import :-(.  Very tedious with 40+ bones, but it seems to have worked.  I could not 'trust my eyes' as the model is quite small, and the zoom function in DS will not allow me to get close enough due to the 'jumps' it makes.

Good point about the memorizing - DS is pretty crashy for me during this process.

I may have to buy your product just to admire the rigging!

Another masterpiece! I sure am happy to see you getting back to instruments after all those autos. I definitely want the upcoming guitar and amp (hope the axe is solid body). I have loved working with your other guitars and bass freebie. Very thoughtful and flexible.

Thank you xyer0. Just love this render/image. So glad you have enjoyed my products. Yup, Those autos (which I loved creating) were my catchup after losing a whole lot of stuff due to a comp crash. But yes back into the swing of instruments. The guys here at Daz3D are currently testing the next addition as I write this. Have been working on the mother of all guitars for something very cool in the new year also - Hendrix/Zappa might give you a hint :) And yes, the new one, you're waiting on, is a solid body with a new morph system created for even better string posing (my hollowbody freebies was my testing ground). It worked fine on them, so I took it all the way to give you ppl somethng even cooler to work with. It'll be a standard feature on any guitar I make here-on.

I'd like to reproduce some of my real-world custom guitars next year. Like the Stellacaster, they were pretty special and took a whole lote of time on a chisel and rasp. We'll see what the new year brings. That carved 6-string was for a chick who now takes it all around the world with her. These basses are just my pride and joys. Both fretless and both very sweet sounding. Be nice to see them in the 3d realm.

Stay creative... love your work. Thanks for suppoting mine. :)

Wow! Those are beautiful instruments. I'll be glad when I have enough money to commission one from you. They look like they'd only exist in 3D. I can't wait to get your next 3D guitar, and the flaming sacrifice Strat will be a welcome addition. In honour of that, here's Jaymi Hendrix with her Messiah amp stacks.
