Why don''t I always see my texture map int the UV section of the model Room?

I am struggling with UV maping. You folks have been great help so far.
Here is one issue I don't understand and I hope I word it properly.
When I go to the model room, and try to edit and view the UV mapping.
Sometimes I see my texture map in the UV view, and sometimes I don't.
( I'm loading an animation) I always see it if I spot render in any room.
But sometimes it comes up under the UV mesh, and often it doesn't.
It is a real help with rotoscoping. Any Ideas? Please excuse any incorrect wording.

I wonder that too
I find making it the default shader often works
There are 3 squares on the UV tab. Click those. And probably you have to select view one shading domain (deselect "Show all")
