HD Video Export

I was editing my video in another program and realized that while the text and other effects looked amazing, my rendered video didn't. Is there any way to export the video in HD?

    what style and how many pixels did you pick from your render setting options?
    1920 x 1080 widescreen is usually full HD
    also did you render to avi or image series? the latter is usually advisable due to codec differences and ability to recover rendered frames in event of crashes or cancelled renders.
