Iconic series "Star Trek" premiered on NBC. The show lasted for three seasons and followed the crew of the starship USS Enterprise as it completed its missions in space in the 23rd century. Captain James T. Kirk -- along with half- human/half-Vulcan science officer Spock, ship Dr. "Bones" McCoy, Ensign Pavel Chekov, communications officer Lt. Nyota Uhura, helmsman Lt. Hikaru Sulu and chief engineer Lt. Cmdr. Montgomery "Scotty" Scott -- confront strange alien races, friendly and hostile alike, as they explore unknown worlds.

    Happy Star Trek Day!

Although our Star Trek RP is set in the early 2380s (approximately "Lower Decks" era), our GM decided that one of the malfunctions our ship's computer was having on our last mission while passing through a large ion storm was that the replicators were frequently producing old equipment patterns.

Naturally, I had to have some fun with this, and rendered my character, the ship's CMO Lt Commander Harriet Christiansen, in a TOS-era skant uniform.

And following on from that silliness, I decided I'd have some fun by also dressing up my other character with that RP group - Mira Longbuck, a ratling from our Warhammer 40k/Dark Heresy campaign, so this one's definitely non-canon, I just thought it was funny to have a ratling in a captain's uniform.

  • Anybody know what happened to Dodger? Most of his stuff is gone from Vanishingpoint and ShareCG esp his Klingon and Borg Drone. I recently lost an external hard drive (just refuses to boot up) that I was using to store some downloads (and that's including Dodger's) I'm going back to redownload some of the stuff I am missing but Dodger is gone.

    Some trivia

Not just DeForest Kelly. Although Leonard Nimoy was Gene Roddenberry's first choice for the role of Spock, he was obligated to audition others (ust in case); among these were DeForest Kelly, Martin Landau (who never appeared in Star Trek but went on to Sci Fi fame for Space:1999) and Victor Lundin (who later went on to portray 'Friday' in the Sci Fi film "Robinson Cruseau on Mars" and was the first actor to portray a Klingon on-screen)

Dodger is still at ShareCG and still has some free stuff available there. His Trek stuff has been removed, though, including the Klingon and all the things he made for it. I'm not sure what happened. I wonder if the copyright police got him. He did not sell the Klilngon, but he was selling some poses for it. Maybe the Paramount lawyers took notice?

I don't do as much Trek fan art as I used to, but it's great to learn those assets are once again available!

Just curious, what spurred on all this?

Someone was looking for one of the Foundation3D models.  Instead of just uploading the one I decided to upload them all.  Also, F3D never came back online and most were not available elsewhere so why not.

Very generous of you!  To quote Monty Python and the Holy Grail, "And there was much rejoicing, 'yay...!'." wink
