I have a pretty complex structure grouped. I know realize i wan't a different material in one of the parts. I tried to ungroup but then everything ungrouped., which is not what I want.

A. Is there a way to ungroup just a part of a group?
B. Is there a way to give a part of a group a different material?

Answer to B is yes, just select that part and apply the texture, it really is that simple.

    Thx chohole!

I couldn't click on it because it was inside another box. Whenever I tried to click the item I wanted, I always got that larger box. - cycle with TAB didn't work either - but then I remembered the select-tool at the bottom row... Yay!

I am very new to this and have tons to learn. It is so great there are so many willing to assist with helpfull tips.

    Thx again.

You will soon learn to re label things to make it easier to find them in complimacated groups. :coolsmirk:

I have a model village I built some years back, and it is a total mess of unnamed prims. ugh. I do keep meaning to redo it and name the things one by one............sometime in the future.

Even changing the colour family can help
