We want to use DAZ 3D to recreate a wide variety of 1850s Mississippi scenes. But DAZ 3D seriously lacks those special fashion and hairstyles of those days, thus my request here. I have a large number of images of paintings and early photos of that time, and add them to this thread, to give the right ideas.

You don't have any drawings or pictures of what most of the (poor) people wore do you? I am curious, those sorts of clothing in such books tended to be for the well off and a few of the upper working class urban, which was not very many people. I also have been unable to find any cookbooks for those not well off or in rural areas to the point that I didn't they just handed done what the grew, gathered, or hunted by mouth only. It's very disappointing.
Considering that the major projects of the 1850s were canal building, the gold rush, and thebuilding of the railroad network, I typed "1850 railroad workers" and "1850 miners" into Google and came up with lots of images.
Unfortunately, they were the working middle class. There is a reason the got attracted to do that work to begin with. Still it's a bit of variety over what is usually presented. I will try different search terms.
I guess what I was hoping the OP might of come across was old homemade clothing by folk that couldn't afford to make Levi Strauss rich in their search for gold.

That turns up a bunch of 20th century photos thanks though.
I found it was more helpful to search on a special type of photographic process for the 1850s than to search for other terms

Not what I was looking for but pretty good summary but very incomplete summary of early photography.
How strange that it tkes you to something completely different to what I see
I get a bunch of mislabeled photos that more often aren't relavant to what they are claimed to be and when clicked through go to commercial sites of internet businesses that have advertised to raise their results in the search returns. Also you are in Britian so the results given to you be Google will be different. I also have strict filtering on and even though it shouldn't change relevant results it does.
the 2nd image that I see leads to this https://witness2fashion.wordpress.com/tag/working-class-victorian-life/
I'm in the U.S. and I see the photos and illustrations of old clothing styles and people of another age.

I don't get that but that's the sort of thing I was looking for. I decided the best place to find that stuff are the genealogy groups on Facebook. That have some very interesting old pictures that will never see the light of day elsewhere.
Key though is a search for 1850s brings up 75 years of pictures & most of them not from the 1850s.
