Can anyone point me to a list of what is new in Daz 4.6 and Victoria 6? Has poke through been fixed? Can figures react to "gravity"? Has animation improved? Is there a comparison list to the previous versions?

I don't have many problems with pokethrough, and there are no changes that I can see. what problems are you having?

Gravity - no, maybe sometime in the future. I believe that someone was working on a physics plugin, but no word yet.

No changes in animation either. What version of DS are you currently using?

    EDIT:

There have been a number of improvements to the mesh. I'll bulletpoint the main ones.

    Genesis 2 improvements
    - Breasts have separate manipulation bones so can be moved like any other body part.
    - Lower Jaw is now capable of manipulations and will move the skin accordingly.
    - Additional polygons in key areas such as the face and underneath breasts means better expressions and better morphs.
    - Fewer JCMs required for developers to create content for the figure. This also helps reduce overheads in Daz Studio.

    Daz Studio 4.6 improvements
    - Better TriAx autofit support
    - 3Delight Render engine updated.
    - Support for gamma correction
    - Independent UV selection available on geometry shells.
    - Ptex support.
    - Multiple subdivision algorithms for figures and props now available under parameters tab.

    I am using 4.5.1.56

After I painstakingly fix poke through in the scene, it falls apart in animation.

What is a smoothing modifier and how do I apply it?

DAZ Studio 4.6 is a terrific and powerful 3D program.... and its FREE. Its a great companion software for Poser... I don't see them as competitors at all..... using one or the other depending on what you need... or both to get your final render or animation.

V6... well I got the pro bundle and a few other products for her... but I see her as an incremental improvement not groundbreaking like either V4 or the original Genesis. And the return to sexual separation of models is confusing as to the direction of Genesis.

I agree with the confusion, but she's certainly a lot more poseable than previous generations of figure, and a lot more expressive. That alone, I feel, makes it a considerably better standalone figure when you need an adult female. When the G2 Male and perhaps child are released I can honestly see myself making a permanent switch assuming they're given decent support by the PA's.

...and this is from one of the original skeptics!
