I own Ultrascatter. I really want to own your product, but I can't justify spending $25+ for it if I have to buy a different scatter plugin to maximize my use of your product. Not knowing is going to be a deal breaker for me right now. Sorry.
For what it’s worth, I grabbed it and the presets seem to cover a lot of ground (haaa), so I’m thinking the cases where I need a scatter script are limited.
Also the grass melds nicely with included hdris, though I found it necessary to add extra light to get it right (point light high in the sky)
I bought this product and I have a couple of questions.
1) Is there a way to reduce render times? I loaded the sunset hills scene and a single figure and it ran for over 2 and a half hours and it still came out grainy. Am I doing something wrong? I rarely have renders take more than an hour and a half, even with larger scenes.
2) Is there a way to decrease the light intensity? I had to turn the translucency of my figure down to 12% and even then she lit up like a light bulb on her hands and ears. I like to have some translucency in my figures to give it some realism, but the light seams to be super duper intense and reactive to translucency. Can that be reduced somehow?
I have a question too (and I'm sorry if you already mentioned this), but are you planning any addons? I can think of all kinds of things: rocks, trees, pathways and roads, fences, houses, corn, wheat, sunflowers (and other plants), etc :D
The scatter tool mentioned in the PDF is Ultrascatter, but is definitely isn't required to use the product. It basically just says, if you want to create your own terrain from scratch using the parts supplied in the product, Ultrascatter works well for it. Some tips for using Ultrascatter are included.
Haven't had a chance to use this yet, but will get to it this weekend, as I've been looking forward to this release since you first mentioned it here!

Hi Divamakeup,
It sounds like something is wrong somewhere. Can you tell me what your computer specs are? And what GPU driver are you using at the moment? If you have a decent GPU, two hours should be more than enough time to produce a nice render. My guess is there might be a driver issue. I know certain older drivers have difficulty rendering overlaping geomtry, for example. Whenever there is too much overlapping geometry in a scene, Iray feels like molasses, and slows down to a crawl.
As for the light intensity, you'll have to manually decrease the lumens on the "SUN" light in the scene. I have no preset to do this, so you just need to adjust the slider down in the parameters for the light.

No add-ons for me planned atm. But I would expect that more large-scale landscapes will come in due time, as more PA's begin using instancing in this way.

The video link is not working for me, anyone else have an issue? It just shows a black square and when I click the vimeo link it says invalid.
Here is the link. I went onto Vimeo and his account to see if it was there. https://vimeo.com/265186447

YOINK!
I love good solutions for outdoor shots, and have most of the previous big grass solutions. Glad to add this to my toolbox!
I get a "forbidden" Message when I try to download the product pdf from http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/read_me/index/52497/start
Anyone else having this problem. I'd like to see what the recommended scatter plugin is before I checkout.
I do note that the Daz3d Docuementation Center is really slow and occasionally throwing a 503 error.

There are only two scatter scripts that I know of. If so, I own both of em. Hoping that's the case anyway ;)

Looks like the ReadMe hasn't been set up correctly, I've seen this before for other products - try this link: http://docs.daz3d.com/lib/exe/fetch.php/public/read_me/index/52497/52497_ultimategrassmeadowworldbuilder.pdf
