Questions about consolidating morphs, locking paramters, missing morphs Gen4 characters

I'm on DS4.6 64 and for the most part using V4.2 btw.
Lost of times I start with a pre-made character with or without an injection for the face., then adjust the individual morphs (usually morphs++), adjust the head scale slightly and try to lock those parameters. What happens is if I inject a facial expression it writes over those parameters if they are part of the injection information and locking them and/or clicking that chain link icon (I'm assuming those are targets that are can be part of a group of changeable targets from some other target)
Is there a way to either lock those targets so they actually lock?
Can I make the mods to the morphs and export it out as a single morph target?
Is there a limit to the amount of morphs you can use?
Is anyone else having weird morph target mishaps in Studio 4 where the app says the morphs could not be found but they exist? (

The chain is for toggling ERC links on and off. Are you saying that locking a morph doesn't work? Does it work if you find it (hidden, usually, so you need to turn hidden parameters on) on the bones and lock it there?
say I set the "smile" parameter on the face to 100%, I lock it, I inject a morph pose into the figure that had the "smile" set to 0%, that injected pose will change smile to a value of 0% over-riding the lock.
What are your settings for respecting limits on pose import? Though I didn't think that affected morph channels.
Offhand where would I find that?
Edit>Preferences>Content Library, under Pose/Shaping preset loading.
