Just wondering: is Chayton your Jay Silverheels inspired guy?

Actually, he is a blend of Rick Mora, Adam Joaquin Gonzalez, and an unknown Sioux man I found randmonly while looking for references. XD

Whelp- since I'm slow in rendering out things with working from home, Valentino was released today and I haven't submitted this poor guy yet. lol
Meet Xaviar for Valentino 8 (Some raw renders, and the one with him in water is getting redone):

He will be packed with the four rings and an ear ring for each ear as well:

This one may or may not be redone; I've done it four times now and it's just not clearing up enough for me during the render.

Xaviar is amazing! Valentino is probably the best male pro bundle in quite a while, imo, and I'm delighted to see you've created a character for him. Doesn't matter when he is released, Xaviar will swing from a rope off the pirate ship directly into my runtime! Aye, matey! He's a must-have.

(Hope you and Oliver are doing as well as can be expected. Stay safe. Hugs.)

Thank you, L'Adair!  He was fun to make, but this time there is no separation of base moprhs from the Daz figure; without Valentino he's just not gonna look right. lol

Hopefully I'll be done with promos this week. Oi.  The struggle is real this week.

    Aw no separate morphs :/

I do like Valentino though and I absolutely love your guy. Better start saving up then lol

Hope all is well with you and Oliver. Stay safe heart

Thank you, FM.  Yeah, I was looking at the base that was sculpted over Valentino and was like, yeah- nope.  Not this time. XD  We're doing ok, working from home for the day job, so we are at least not bored as all get-out..although, working from home has severely cut into my rendering times.  lol

    Back to Mikhail!  (Finally)

I revamped the color/tonal ranges of the original MR base since the first kept looking off (Green and/or pale blue in lighting).  I will have to start over with the photo resources, but this time I'll be using choice bits instead of trying for too much coverage.  Simply because I already know matching this skin tone is gonna be a PITA.

So, first light testing (Iray preview window):
Grey HDRI, a few lights, soft kind of render.  No green. Good.
    Second Iray Preview render:
Harsher, more of a studio lighting set up with the same spot lights.

I'll do a few outdoor sets as well and see how the tonality of his skin reacts to the lighting.  Then, again, I will see about specific photo details to add to this set and post screen shots again.

Well, here's the outdoor Iray Preview render:
I removed the spot light and left the eye glint light and a low hair accent light; the rest is Rain City Chicago-Learning Center HDRI from DImension Theory.  No Green/yellow!  I can move on.

    Yummy Xaviar :D

Mikhail's looking good. I'm wondering what he's thinking lol

    Great work!

Thanks, FM!  As for what Mikhail's thinking, it's probably best no one asks..  LOL

Is he one of the characters in your mob story?

  • DarwinsMishapDarwinsMishap Posts: 4,087

Actually, Mikhail is my original OC; back from my early D&D days in high school, that ended up embroiled into various stories (Written ...and the papers lost somewhere/sometime between my Sr. year and my early 20's) written and then via online writing forums.  I had started a book on him and the family he is part of, and eventually with my partner's story of the Family (Mob and otherwise), he and his family became part of that whole thing as well.

Let me tell you, it's a tangled web we have woven between us.  However, his story is more fantasy/horror based.  His timeframe is split between the Black Plague era on Earth and then onwards to an alternate world/dimension later in life.

Skin set deseamed, the regularly colored eye presets done (blue shown), and first brow set finished.  For alabaster style of skin tone, his didn't turn out so bad. Aristocratic looking (as he is being first born within one of the royal bloodlines (but not in line for any leadership role other than Sovereign of the Council).) I'm happy with it.

Bit of backstory: Mikhail's father was the Sovereign of the Council that governed the City and Five Families that made up of the Council itself.  The City is based in an alternate world (fantasy/horror based) rather than Earth, and has a caste system much like the Eurpean 15-18th Centuries with towns, villages, serfs, royals, upper and middle-class citizens.  Human, Elven, Dwarven, Drow, Fae, you get the idea.  Mikhail and his brother, Gregory, lost their mother during childbirth of the third son, who also was lost during the birthing process, and their father was a vicious man.  Cruelty escalated without the buffer that their mother was, and after disposing of both bodies, their father basically left them to their tutors, the nanny (Gregory was very young at that time) and to their own devices while he and Mikhail's uncle went to various wars.  Nikolai, their cousin, spent much of his time with Mikhail and Gregory, or they would spend weeks with their Aunt and Nikolai at the uncle's estate.  Much drama, and quite a bit of trauma is their backstory. - Edited because Eye Kin Schpel

Something I did quick last night before passing out.  Simple render just for rendering of Xaviar.  (Above raw render, below processed)

Been busy- we've adopted two Australian Shepard 7 week old puppies last week... What a way to remind you of how old you feel. lol

Still working on Mikhail- just don't have any progress pics due to the ink work is still being hashed out, and the props I want to make for him haven't come out the way I want them so...yeah, no sharing.3

Thanks, Carola!  That was, in fact, the inspiration behind the render as well as one of the references for his morph. ;)

    Beautiful image of Xavier.

And my commiseration in advance for the puppies. devil

Many years ago, my youngest daughter and I got two puppies from the same litter, German Shepherd mix. By the time she moved out and took her dog with her, I had sworn, multiple times, to never, ever bring home two puppies at the same!

Good luck, guys. I'm afraid you're going to need it.

Oh, yeah, we are. lol  Worth it, though.  Eventually, we'll get out of the continually exhausted mode with these two. XD

Oh, my. I hope you have a really big yard. And also, possibly some sheep or other herdable livestock.

Some friends of mine had an australian shepherd, and children. Said it was a great babysitter/watchdog, of sorts, because Australian shepherds will herd anything. Including children. (Watching them herd children is weirdly amusing. It's like some alarm goes off in their head saying, "Nope nope nope. Too spread out. Too far from the designated play area. Time to move you back home."  Only works with relativey young children, though.)

  • DarwinsMishapDarwinsMishap Posts: 4,087

It's a relatively small yard, unfortuately and only us and the cat to herd. lol

However, we are going to be putting both into training for service/protection, so they will have jobs and they will be worked on a daily basis-so that will help.  Hopefully. >.>

Quick sneak peek of the progress of the tattoo oddessy for Mikhail.  I have more to do with the hand portion, and there are seams to fix along the neck/shoulder line to the arm, but progress!
