Ethnic Pixie/Fairy Characters

I would love to see more fairies and pixies of diverse ethnicities, such African American, with fantasy makeup and tattoo options, like for Karyssa 8 for instance. It's not for 'political correctness' or any reason like that. I have young family members who are biracial, and I'd like to do some fantasy art that looks more like them. Thank you for reading!

To be honest, this is actually something I'm working on. Mainly for a personal project (a graphic novel that I'm still trying to get off the ground), but I'll be selling anything market-worthy here at Daz that comes out of this. So far I'm working on the faery wings and EquisVoid has helped give me some really good ideas on how I can expand my fey-world to incorporate different species (or races if you will) for my faery folk. (And I'm not doing it for any political correctness either. I just think with all the vast variety in nature that the fey-world would also produce an array of faeries. I think that would be much more interesting to look at than the cookie-cutter faeries that have been popular of late.)

It's also very easy to scale regular human models of whatever ethnicity to fairy size and also to apply morphs to exisiting fairies and change their skin texture sets.

That is awesome. I agree that with the vast variety in nature there would be a wide array of faeries of all different shapes and colors in the fae world. I just got the Karyssa 8 and Giselle 6 pro bundles and adore them, but would love even more diversity in the characters available for them.

I will try doing that also. I can't wait to get the Monique 8 pro bundle when I can afford her!

The beauty of the Genesis (1, 2, 3, & 8) figures is that you can mix and match the character shapes. You can use Karyssa and then blend in a little of Monique 8 to get a different ethnicity injected into the character. You can do this with the whole character, or just the head, or just the body. The Genesis line was made to be versatile for just this purpose.

Then I would need to figure out some fantasy makeups for her. I was also actually thinking for a body shape when working with Genesis 2 that this character would make a cute pixie with some wings and a little fairy outfit: https://www.daz3d.com/ly-trini Maybe with this texture and some of her shape dialed in? https://www.daz3d.com/nyota-victoria-6

Wow. A lot of possibilities, but I still would like to see something like what FeralFey is working on.

Forbidden Whispers has a couple of fantasy make up LIE (Layered Image Editor) sets that will work with whatever character skin you wind up using. I'm pretty sure she has a Genesis 2 Female pack floating somewhere in her catalog. She does excellent work (and I'm not just saying that because she's my friend. I'm very picky about the products I use and her stuff is always top notch.) You should start looking there.

Thanks, I will look at that! smiley ( I've invested in Genesis 1, 2, 3, and 8 so I still use and buy products for the older generations as well as the newer ones. I am kind of sentimental about the older ones! Hehehe).

What makes an excellent Pixie/Fairy base is the Toon Generations 2 Megabundle and you probably have these Puck (way back to M4) and the Giselle 6 Pro Bundle (although you can buy just the fairy have-to-have clothing with wings product from that bundle or wait for the next sale.

Sakura 8 also would be a good base.

You should check the G3 to G8 Morph Transfer thread towards the end about transferring Toon Generations 2 to G8 and Sakura 8 to G8M for Genesis 8 ready pixies / fairies.

Sakura 8 is a cutie. I agree with what others have said in other threads about wishing for a male counterpart for her. Also, male fairies would be wonderful! I'm getting off topic, but I can just imagine how cool a male fairy/puck character would look with different makeups, tattoos, and clothing.

Thanks. I did end up getting Monique 6 as a freebie with the Alexandra 8 Pro bundle, so I'm going to play around with her and Giselle 6 and see what I get. I bought an Elf character a while back that I thought was fair skinned in her promos, but for some reason on my computer she rendered a lot darker. I don't know if that is an error or she's supposed to render like that, but I like the tone of her skin in my render. This is her product page: https://www.daz3d.com/akimitsu-for-genesis-3-female-s

Updated: Ooo! Now this is just what I was looking for. I happened on her while browsing Silver's store: https://www.daz3d.com/xolani-for-monique-7

Sorry for the double post. I wanted to add that I am such a newbie at things like this I would likely not do a good job with it! Unfortunately, I am probably very lazy in that I would like DAZ and the PA's to do the hard stuff for me with ready-made male characters!
