(Free comission) what clothes do you want?
Hi there. I'm a low/mid poly asset seller and recently I'm learning cloth making for DAZ (for my purposes ussually). I want to get better and is best if someone tells me what to do so I can try not only to do what I imagine.
So please, attach me a photo of what you would like and I'll try to do it.
Some guidelines:
1.no props, accesories or rigid armor, because that is a different workflow than I'm trying to get better right now.
2. If there are presets of poses that you want the clothes conform specially well (thin, bulky, muscular, chest options.
. Just mention it so I can put the controllers/morphs.
Right now you guys give had give me enough suggestions for a 24/7 month of working , so if anyone give more suggestion it will be apreciated but only make it if I consider them better than the first ones.
Currently working on varied proposals, until now made some Beta Rachel Dress from Blade Runner, Mad Max Jacket and Minoan Dress but not release the packs yet
when I finish it I'll release the things I've done so far to get some feedback ;)

I have 2 ideas which I cannot find in DAZ studio and might be welcomed by many artists to
create some cool scenes. - Specially for a Futuristic Noir scene like "Blade Runner" style , and a Futuristic Apocalyptic war like "Mad Max" scene style.
The 2 clothes are the following...
"Mad Max" film style Leather male-suit

I need arctic and eskimo clothing similar to that shown in these promos: https://www.daz3d.com/antarctica-expedition-the-encampment-sled-and-poses
I second the Mad Max clothes.
For me ideally G3M or G8M and all the Daz official Male Characters in that generation, open and close morphs for all the jackets, movement morphs, and push up/pull down morphs on the sleeves would be really nice too.
I've needed an Indiana Jones jacket for ages - have a couple of ideas for pictures

And a Starsky (Paul Michael Glaser) leather jacket

Both would need to have a worn, beaten up textures to look right ;-)
While there are items out there similar to this, I have never found a really good match for U.S. Navy Dress Whites. Too many uniforms out there seem to be either a bit futuristic, or for female characters designed to look more like a stripper's coustume and not a military uniform.

I would to say first of all "Thanks for offering to make clothing for us"
First I would like to see an outfit like Princess Diana wore. Here is the picture:
Maybe even something like this Native Princess:
or even this:
with this:
I'd love to see a longrider / duster coat. Ankle length preferred. I didn't find any non-commercial pictures, but there's tons to be found... here's some on the least commercial page I've found http://www.oasisamor.org/western-duster-coats-for-men/

Well Well Well!! Thank you for the sugesttions, it's enought for the moment; Yesterday I began working with the Rachel Dress from Blader Runner.
I'll wil work too in the MadMax jacket but as jackets and multicloth are a little difficult I'll see the most easy suggestions too.
I will be posting results here ;)
PS: Very possible that I do Sumerian etc clothing, I'm an amateur videogame designer and Protocivilizations is some of the niches I'd like to make something about.
make them dforceable please
anything for aiko3 :D
I really need the floor length coat that the guy who's wearing the top hat with the skull bandana. That's Mick Mars of Motley Crue and I've only found two photos of him wearing this particular coat.
I second the request for cloting from the mesopotanian era.
I think another era that is not widely explored yet are the European Dark Ages. Visigoths, Franks, Burgunds, Alemannen, Merovingians, Celts, Vikings that do not look like the motor gang anachronisms from recent TV-series depictions, etc. Don't have any links here; just a suggestion.
Alarconte, this may help you about the clothing culture of minoans and a bit of history https://stravaganzastravaganza.blogspot.com.es/2011/09/minoan-costumes.html

@Alarconte,
Thank you for offering to try make clothing as a learning tool. I have never done this and for this reason alone it's much appreciated if someone like you go this route. I am not really interested in skimpy wear clothing and more real-life, ordinary daywear. But I like the 40s, 50s, 60's era and also late 1800's/1900's plus. 1800s/1900s like Edwardian, Victorian, etc. Also The Roaring Twenties/Fourties, etc. Do you think this could be possible to try this to better your learning skills?
The attached images I got online, reflecting the 50s era for example.
Regards,
Laura
I’d love to see the MIT space suit modeled for male and female. Here’s one photo, but if you google “mit space suit” you’ll find all the references you could want.
Male clothing, particularly long sleeve shirts that hang open and can be layered over tee shirts. Jeans or pants that can be loosened at the ankles so they easily go over boots - bootleg versus skin tight.
I wish you much luck with your learning projects ????
I'll second this one. A good free duster (with matching and hideable mantle) with length, collar, and lapel morphs? That would be incredible.
+1 as well! This would be awesome!
Hi there!
These days I made various clothes and realistic morphs for exiting ones (Better Fixing for shape morphs etc)
But I've having a really difficult time with pJCM (joint controller morphs). And is a must with some kind of special clothes (like the shoulders in the Rachel Dress)
I think tutorials I've seen (every one tells differents things to do) are outdated 'cause I don't find the workflow to make clothes folds ok.
For example, I can get one arm to fold perfect, and when I put the morph for the other arm, the previous arm is a mess.
Really trying, but if some PRO has a good tutorail about Joint Controller morphs I'll be gratefull cause some parts of cloth making is like bumping the head against the wall (But I'll keep trying!)
PS: FBM morphs works as charms)
Maybe you can ask for tutorial referrals in the commons forum. There is a lot of traffic there and questions seem to get answered quite quickly. Some PAs sometimes also drop into threads with nice hints and solutions to things, I've noticed.
is this really necessary if you make it useable with dforce ?
Maybe not, but I always like to make products well prepared in basics (as maybe you can see in my products); It's a jacket that needs joint control in order to the shoulders to look right and even if I release this as free I need to learn all the perks; as said in first post, I'm doing comissions to force me to learn the things I don't know ;)
I'll see in the rest of the forums if someone has a solution ^^

A video tutorial "Creating and Hooking Up a JCM"
I would love a romantic shirt for the guys, something that you'd see on a historical romance novel. I've tried the pirate shirts and just about everything else. We have very few nice, flowing shirts that look historical. I've considered learning how to make one because I can't find what I want.
I agree with @lynara a nice poet's shirt would be awesome.
What I really need and would appreciate is simple medieval peasant clothes.
I would love to see some farm clothes for the G8M Amish overalls, maybe simple plaid shirt??
Well, Finally solved the Joint Controller morphs workflow.
I made a non exactly akind Rachel Dress from Blade Runner and made some design mistakes.
I doesn't have normal maps or displacements maps yet but I'm learning how to apllying them fast.
For the moment a pair of renders showing the two piece dress (jacket and skirt) with some automatic morphs (Joint Controllers) applying.
For now Ill let this Dress as It is I think, meanwhile I'll get better in other aspects of cloth designing. I'll packit up to an Object to share when I made a pair of comissions and see the packing workflow.
