SOLVED!! Creating Poser Companion files -- NOT WORKING!

Okay... I've tried. Hard. But I'm failing. If you're going to try to help, please read this post in its entirety, because I'm going to be as detailed as I can.

DSON is working with Poser Pro 2014. I have no problem importing Genesis or M5 or V5 or whoever. I can import files that have Poser CFs already created.

I am NOT able to CREATE a Poser Companion File for a .duf clothing figure that doesn't have one available for download.

I'm trying to add "Dark Moods for Genesis" to my poser runtime with a CF. I've followed (to the best of my freaking ability) the steps for updating metadata, found here: http://docs.daz3d.com/doku.php/public/software/dazstudio/4/userguide/creating_content/packaging/tutorials/adding_metadata/start Which, incidentally, are about as easy to follow as modular furniture assembly instructions written in Chinese. It is ENTIRELY possible I screwed this up, but it SEEMS to be correct. -- I changed the default category for all the content items I wanted to convert. I added the product, edited the category, edited the database, and all of my metadata categories were showing up correctly under assets.

I selected the item I want to create a CF for, selected "Create Poser Companion Files," made sure the paths were all correct, hit OK, and then went into Poser.

My poser library shows a cr2, duf, png, and py file for each item. The python script for these items are IDENTICAL to the python scripts for content that had pre-made CFs. However, when I try to add the item, I get the following error:

"Exception in RealityDataModel::addObjects: NULL result without error in PyObject_Call"

I've tried this at least a thousand times and I'm getting ticked.

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG???

Thanks.

That almost looks as if it's Reality objecting - if you have that installed for Poser. If you open the items in DS (you should be able to open the .duf file by going to the Poser library and doubl;e-clicking the CR2) which subdivision method, if any, is applied - CatMark or CatmullClark(Legacy)?

I did not have Reality installed in my PPro2014 folder, but it WAS in 2012. I uninstalled it completely. I then uninstalled DSON from 2012 and uninstalled it from 2014, too. I then reinstalled it in 2014 only.

I now get no error messages when I add an item. However, I also get no GEOMETRY. The item appears in the scene inventory, with all sub-parts listed in the heirarchy manager. But there is no item on the screen. Anywhere.

Opening the duf in DS2.6 shows a subdivison method of CatMark.

Upon closer investigation, I've also found many clothes WITH downloaded PoserCFs that behave the same way. Figures -- like M5, V5, etc. -- open fine. Some of the other content also loads. Could be that the Genesis Essentials stuff appears while the rest doesn't, but I haven't gotten far enough to confirm that. In any event, much of the clothing that I try to import with DSON simply doesn't appear. No error anymore. Just no geometry.

    EDIT:
Okay, I did some investigating... What appears (as geometry) and what doesn't seems to be linked to what is a Starter Essential item and what isn't.

(Classic Rolled Hair, didn't load. Sally Mae hair, loaded fine.)

I installed the Genesis Starter Essentials CFs to a brand new "test" library. Upon adding those items to a scene, they DID appear, but ironically, when they did, I got "poser.error: Couldn't create unimesh geometry." Many items that weren't starter essentials did NOT appear, and there was no error. They just didn't show up.

Characters seem to load fine. Just not hair or clothing.

I want this to work. I really do.

Doh!! Idiot mistake... When I added my runtimes to PPr02014, I neglected to add the "My Library" runtime. Added it and it all works fine. *smacks forehead*

    Carry on!

The data and people folders should be in the folder that holds the Runtime folder, not in the Runtime folder itself.
