In Carrara, Fluidos produce a serie of .PLY files, one for each image, there is some free programs to convert in .obj files.

    thanks.

Same question for the upcoming Water Planes presets

Sorry. No, they don't, because the Studio Fluidos objects cannot be exported to Carrara and the scales aren't the same so the parameters should be changed. However, with the proper settings, they can be reproduced in Carrara, as the engine is the same.

But, for next product, I'm preparing waterfalls presets for both Studio and Carrara.

Alternatively, can you freeze out a DS Fluidos sim to real geometry?

Yes, export the mesher as obj.

But another solution is to use the bakefiles themselves. Fluidos for Carrara can read them, although you have to resize and reorient the viewer.

Yay!  Hooray for waterfalls.  I did some Fluidos waterfall tests on big terrains in Studio but had my scales way off and a few other issues. Can probably find my tests in the Commons thread or the comercial thread.  I think Fluidos is perfect for that sort of thing.  Have probably mentioned that I am currently playing with smaller Fluidos applications, but I am so scattered in my playing that it will probably be a while before I post some examples.

Fluidos is a great concept and great execution.  Hope more people make use of it, not just for water.

Well, I found the thread. I posted the terrain but I never posted the actual fluidos test.  If memory serves, this Carrara terrain to Studio Fluidos test worked reasonably well conceptually, but I just did not have enough water.  Really just a matter of scale.

Your terrain is very good for the stream.

Sources are much better for waterfalls than fluid masses. Anyway, these scenes need many simulation frames before reaching a steady state.

For better results, the scale should be as close as possible to the intended scene.

I remember. I eager to see your examples as you finish them.

Thank you. I hope the same.

Yes, I think a combinaiton of using a source for the water and having the patience to reach the steady state will allow me to break the dam and inundate the downstream village!

"Control the weather, and you control the world!  Bwahahahahaha."

Will give it another go after I finish my smaller Fluidos projects.

It's too early for teasers. The new engine is faster (it's multithreading). As my GPU is old (Nvidia GT 420), in my computer the new engine is much faster without OpenCL But this feature cannot be seen in images.

However, I'll show you an example of the meshing .

In next images, there were used the same cell size and resolution. Forty-one frames. The current engine takes 246 seconds, the new engine, 104.

Yes, everything, incluiding the dll must be in extension folder.

installed the waves presets into my duf library.  there is a prop in there.

    a few .stage files

don't figure how to use the presets in carrara, don't have the ds fluidos to view the settings.

but theoretically, i could manually type the settings into carrara?

Nope. Linky to your previous question on this (just up a bit on this same page)

It's difficult. You could reconstruct the scene, but you should convert the settings. In Daz Studio the units are centimeters (except forces, they're m/s^2). For example, a Studio 6.5 cell size must be about 0.21 cell size in Carrara.

Another problem is the orientation of the axes. The presets saves the orientation.

    Carrara Studio

This is the preset of a Studio water plane in Carrara. I only insert a Fluid domain and pointed it to the .state file and run the frame 0 (more frames will need the proper surces, sink and forces).

And this is the same, rotated x 90º and z 90º

Let me see what more could be done.

There is a little update of Fluidos for Carrara, now version 1.401

    • FluidS modifier no longer ask for an input folder when is added to an object. Thus, this property can be left empty for sharing purposes.

    • Cell size in Main properties of Fluids Domain is now a text box instead a slider. The slider didn’t accept three decimals.

    https://sharecg.com/v/90155/view/9/Plug-in/Fluidos

I'm preparing Waterfalls presets for Studio and Carrara. The update avoids Carrara ask for the folders before the scene is completely loaded.
