Request - More Road/Street Environments

Hi Guys,
There is one thing that will be great to have more road/street environments. With curves going through the forest as if you are driving in the country
perhaps with tunnels, bridges and whatever else. Or even just going in a loop setting.
I know 1stBation has done a highway and urban city scenes, which are fantastic, but I would love to see more of that so that I (or others) can create/animate driving scenes.
Thanks
Winton

+ 1! I would also like to see more urban scenes. My superheroes need more places to dramatically stare over the city.
Why not :)
I can't help with driving in forests, but Streets has undergone an overhaul, (some tweaks, addition of city blocks, roofs, and a complete Iray version). I'm holding the update (free, btw) until I finish Streets 2, and they should both be released within the next month.
Maclean, would you mind creating an add-on texture for your Streets to look more edwardian and late georgian? (1894-1916) and because eras do last an extra half of a decade to fully change, these could still work for rendering streets on the 20s.
There is a gap and a lack and a need of cityscapes and streets for those decades of the very early XX century...
Thanks, just for reading!
Sorry but that's not possible just by changing the textures. The models themselves would have to built in that style.
Victorian 1837-1901 Edwardian 1901-1914 The edwardian era was the last era to be named after the ruling monarch of the time.
The Georgian period that you mention was 1714 to 1830 and covered 4 different kings. Late Georgian architecture is also sometimes called Regency. Classic Georgian architecture was mostly from the early and middle part of the era.
I got confused, because Georgian were regents, I mean Edward started to grow as regent from 1892 and he was more progressive and openminded with art and civil rights for the new midclass and bourgeoise.
Some years later, at 1915, the spanish king Alphonse XII produced 12 silent pornography films https://www.theguardian.com/film/2004/mar/12/2
At the same time on all Europe from 1901 to 1910 the promotion and marketing of products on sale were shown as high erotic fantasy images of women called Art Noveau, the most famous is the czech artist Alphonse Mucha. I think all Edwardian regency was also a modernist influence.
The Point is the new buildings/streets/roads of Edwardian aren't victorian, we need more representative of the changes of the era, art deco art noveau and modernist influences.
Here is a link of people from London and Paris walking at early 1900s http://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-2173872/Edwardian-street-style-Astonishing-amateur-images-capture-fashion-women-London-Paris-century-ago.html
Edward, Prince of Wales was never Regent for his Mother, queen Victoria. The Regency period was the previous century
Art Nouveau period was mainly from 1890 to 1910, and covered the end of the Victorian era and most of the Edwardian era. It was popular in Europe. In Great Britian we had a more restrained version called the Arts and Crafts movement made famous by Charles Rennie Mackintosh
Art Deco although traces were found earlier, became popular after the first world war, from 1920 onwards to 1930s. There are many Art deco buildings in the UK still to this day, both famous buildings and ordinary houses that people still live in.
Elvis Costello even Wrote a song about one
Five miles out of London on the Western Avenue
Must have been a wonder when it was brand new
Talkin' 'bout the splendour of the Hoover factory
I know that you'd agree if you had seen it too
It's not a matter of life or death
But what is, what is ?
It doesn't matter if I take another breath
Who cares ? Who cares ?
Green for go, green for action
From Park Royal to North Acton
Past scrolls and inscriptions like those of the Egyptian age
And one of these days the Hoover factory
Is gonna be all the rage in those fashionable pages
Five miles out of London on the Western Avenue
Must have been a wonder when it was brand new
Talkin' 'bout the splendour of the Hoover factory
I know that you'd agree if you had seen it too
It's not a matter of life or death
But what is, what is ?
It doesn't matter if I take another breath
Who cares ? Who cares ?
Ha! One my all-time favorite Costello songs!
Nice one, chohole!
I think The Streets of Old London would still work for the Edwardian era. Heck, add in some cars and modern street furniture and there are bits of London that look like that now! I think you could adapt stuff from Le Village Bundle by applying a cobbled shader to the roads and changing the street furniture. There's a product on Rendo called "European Street" that might work given the same treatment.
Frankly, there's a lot of stuff in the store that represents the built environment of that era, because a lot of it was there before and is still thee now. What you really need is a few elements - streetlamps, railings, signage - that places the scene in that period. I have a freebie in my runtime called "Applejack Street Lanterns" that partly fits the bill. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be available any more, but you could contact Applejack on Rendo and ask.
sadly on the streets of london every building is to much recognizable and famous to kitbash, and village is very modern on all details and ruins it, I was scared when I had a watch on pharmacy and almost every detail on le village. I think both products are a fail for kitbashing and can't show something cool about generic streets of art deco on edwardian era.
Let me show some links to the truly sexiest art deco of edwardian era:

You are still getting your styles and eras confused. Art Nouveau was late Victorian and Edwardian. Art deco was post WW1
If the difference between art nouveau and art deco had to be encapsulated in a few words, it would be these – the former is flowing, whereas the latter is sharp. Where art nouveau is known for flowery shapes and themes, art deco is known for streamlined, sharp themes (think of the Chrysler Building in New York). Both art nouveau and art deco designs evolved as a response to the culture of the times. The former was influenced mostly by the industrial revolution and the latter by World War I.
This one from one of your links

I mean art noveau and early art deco with art noveau influences, because art deco is a mixture ,the sharpness aren't that much representative on all art deco.
Art Noveau is not end of victorian, has nothing to do with victorian. Victorian is more baroque and industrial inspired.
Art nouveau as a style started coming into fashion towards the end of the Victorian Era.
In this context Era are named after the monarch who was in power at the time. Styles do not exactly follow the eras. Styles also vary during the era, especially when an Era is as long as the Victorian one was. Think of the Difference between Osborne House, Balmoral Castle and the Palm House at Kew Gardens.
I know this is changing the subject, but it wouldn't be a bad idea for even more highway, freeway roads with perhaps onramps. That would would be good to see. If that's possible.
wintoons,
The problem isn't the roads themselves, but the surrounding environment. I actually built a complete set of 6-lane highways for the pack I'm working on (Streets 2), but I've now decided not to include them due to the difficulty of making the surrounding area.
That's a shame, bro. Oh well you do what you can. :)
To bad, it would have been nice. Any idea when Streets 2 will be out?
What else are you working on?
I haven't sent you enough money.
I know the feeling, Petercat. I've been panting for Streets 2 ever since maclean announced it was in the works.
I thought it would be easy to update Streets, but I was wrong. The combination of updating one pack and building another has turned into a sort of endurance test. Can I finish it, or will I go insane first?
Seriously, Streets is done, at least until I start on the promos and start finding things to fix (There's always something I missed). Streets 2 is almost done, except for some rigorous testing, then the promos & packaging (and the dratted help file, which always takes a long time!). I had hoped to release them both before christmas, but that's never going to happen, so it'll be january.
Anyway, thanks to everyone for the support. It's good to know I'm not wasting my time,
No, your not wasting your time. I've seen your work, its really good. I love the everyday stuff you've made. I've got them on my wishlist to get later for my projects. So, just keep going and make more products :)
Oh I have a request/suggestion, I'm looking for police badges. The ones detectives wear on their belt or chest pocket. With the leather base on it. If you can do something like that, that will be great :)
Hmmm... offhand I can't think of anything on my list of things to do that would cover badges. I generally try to make packs of related props. But I'll keep it in mind. You never know.
Definitely not wasting your time. "Streets" is awesome and I'm looking forward to "Streets 2"
Heh. I've been panting for anything new from MaClean!
I already own everything in their catalog, now I have withdrawal symptoms.
How about badges and ranks, civilian and military? Metal, subdued and cloth?
Futuristic as well, for sci-fi uniforms?
With nameplates and award ribbons?
That would be an instant buy for me.
Okay, anything you create is an instant buy, but still...
Is there an ETA on Streets 2? Looking forward to it. tx
