Hi There

As this product was made before dForce was available, it does not have dForce settings applied.

I have attached a MAT file for dForce settings for the Swim Shorts for Genesis 8 Male(s) - https://www.daz3d.com/swim-shorts-for-genesis-8-male-s

Instructions:

Add dForce modifier: Dynamic Surface to the shorts

Turn Smoothing back on in the Parameters Tab (Generic)

Apply attached MAT File to Shorts

Voila.

I actually don't have this product yet but just put it on my list. Nice to see dForce updates for existing products. Thank you so much!

  • Oh nice! I just picked this up and was wondering if I could dforce it. Thanks!

    Hey,

does this mean that this product still has no out of the box dforce?
Is an update possible to add native dforce without adding manuelly?
And could do also please support Gensis 3? yes

The shorts has been updated in the store, and the product page title now reflects this. Here's a quick render with default dForce settings. The only change to the shorts was scaling the legs up to fit the character's thicker than normal thighs.

Edit to re-upload image. (Fingers crossed it works this time)

    Hey dragonfly,

Your image is not visibly frown

However, I am a little bit irritated because if I click on "simulate" I get the error that there is no object to simulate. Which means the shorts seems not to have simulation settings. If I add manuelly a dynamic surface it is working. But this is the first dforce product I owen where I have to add the deforce modifier myself.

    Hi,

Does anyone know if an update was made to the dForce swim shorts so that the settings for dForce are native with the product? I've checked my DIM downloads periodically for updates but I don't see anything new. I receive an error whenever I attempt to simulate the shorts. And when I follow the instructions provided by @nikisatz , it explodes. I'm clearly doing something incorrectly.

I bought this quite recently and no it hasn't been fixed, as I needed it and got it to work for what I wanted  I won't return it,  but I won't be purchasing from this vendor again.

Thank you @scorpio for verifying. I appreciate it.

    1. Select teh shorts in the Scene - in the Sceen pane, or right-click on them in the viewport
    2. Open the Simulation Settings pane, if it isn't - Window>Panes(Tabs)>Simulation Settings
    3. Open the pane's option menu (the lined button in the top corner, or right-click the tab) and dForce>Add dForce Modifier: Dynamic Surface
    4. In the Parameters pane's editor tab, under Mesh Smoothing, enable Smoothing and set the type to Generic
    5. Apply the preset like any other preset.
