This is just my rough draft idea, to help chole find better ways to design the contest. Hopefully things are really transparent.

this is by no way offcial. Just a test to see if everything works

I used survey monkey to make the poll.. as for the images , I saved all the image into a seperate folder and reuploaded them to www.postimage.org into there own folder. They have a neat feature that allows you to share an entire library as thumbnails for either forums, or websites. ( all options free btw ).

I do not know how to make the results public ( if it is a feature people want ) but if we do decide to make the contest this way from now on, I dont mind just posting a screenshot off everything after the deadline is done. Let me know what you guys think about this idea

Oh wow ,  that Survey planet looks far easier than Surveymonkey   will have an in depth look later.

I have made the Voting threads previously by collecting the Image name. links etc from here and making a list in Libre Office, shuffling it so the names read alphabetically by title image, and then feeding them back into a new thread .    This is the part that takes the longest to do I have to admit.

would having the names of the participants be a requirement?
if I save the image as [ the Name / Artist / # ] it will show up in postimage.org if the person clicks on it ( https://postimg.org/image/ediiyihhh/ )
It seems like a lazy way to do it, but its very efficent. If you give me the requirements of what needs to be done, I wouldnt mind doing it for you ( or at least setting up this one )

We have made them anonymous  in the past,  so just name of image and a number.   However my document in libre Office does have artists names,  to make it easier onece the voting has been done.

Done. All the titles and apporate numbers ( in random order ) should be added . You can copy my post if you like, all that is left is to create a poll for it with survey planet, or whatever works best.

    EDIT:
when I say random order, I mean based of the orginal contest from when they were added. In my list above, the images are numbered 1-31 from left to right, top to bottom. just thought I clarify it incase people get confused

and just incase anyone is wondering, this is what it should look like after the poll is completed. Still havent found a way to make it avaible to the public, but I assume it shouldnt be an issue of having it anonymous until the votes are tallied?

Apoc - very interesting idea. Thank you for going all the way to set up this example. It looks promising to me.

    @Horo, mtnmen, jamahoney.

Thanks. All that is left is to wait for the A-ok from chohole, and we will be back on track

Good work Apoc! Thanks for the efforts.

Now, this is a good way forward, apparently. Should you (chohole or anybody else) make a new thread now with the voting options for our friends at Carrera or something?

Of course, since we have seen all the entries with names, we cannot yet do an anonymous voting yet in our group. That would require anonymous entries as well. I have no clue how we could organise that. Or is this just intended for Chohole to help send the voting to judges? I thought finding judges was one of the problems?

I'm quite curious how it will work out!

So maybe,    as this is sort of a trial run we can use this thread  and Apoc can put the survey back or re do it,  then we can ask people to go and vote,  and report to this thread that they have voted..   See how that works out.

Then we trust the Bryce voters to be honest and not vote for themselves.

OK, difficult to have to threads about the same running at the same time!

I just gave my opinion why I would prefer non-participating voters that do not know our general works in the other thread.

But if group voting is the final choice, I can live with that too, no problem. As long as the pay is good, anybody can buy my vote! really. devil

Yea honeslty I didnt think that far ahead.
also I do agree, its far too late for anonymous entries, I just did what I could.

I really do wish I refreshed my tabs before making this post

Oh well. no harm done I guess. I did plan to redo the entire thread since there is alot of info and stuff missing. + I voted illegally in this post. I just wanted to test things out so I voted 2times just to make sure you couldnt revote. So was already planning on making a new thread XD

I havent yet posted the 26th contest entry, but I agree with chohole, I want trust our community members to be honest and fair. + I did give them 4 votes to somewhat even things out. But before I do post it, just as a final confirmation ( feel as though im not yet running everything by chohole ). am I allowed to post the contest in the bryce discussion thread, or should I post it somewhere else?

I notice some of the images are extremely distorted (aspect ratio was not preserved, so they are stretched way out in one direction), can that be fixed?

Nevermind, it appears if postimgs.org is blocked by NoScript, it still displays but stretches the image.  Works fine when I allow that.
