Those poses are looking sharp, guys! Always makes me happy to see my freebies being put to work...

    Here's the next set: http://www.sharecg.com/v/62886/view/11/Poser/M4-Landing-Party-Poses----Tricorder

These were created to go with XCal's tricorder, but with modification should work with other tricorder props too.
I tried to make poses for the tricorder itself, but they wouldn't save properly. Any ideas as to why poses for an articulate prop (.cr2 file) wouldn't save the same way poses for a figure would?

I'm working on a request for 7 of 9 uniform textures for the V4 Bodysuit. I've done the brown suit and round necked suit as well, but the silver suit requires a bump map "undersuit." Given how dismal my bump maps tend to be, I'm pretty pleased with this one. I'm working in Poser 6. In the Material Room, I have the Bump set to .00093 and Displacement set to .00333.

If anyone has suggestions for a more optimal Material room setup, I'd love some suggestions.

Also, if anyone is interested in taking the bump map and texture and creating, packaging up, and posting for me a DAZ Studio version of the outfit, please pm me an email address and I'll be happy to send you the files.

Fans liked Seven's silver suit but the lighting dept considered ti a PITA to light, could be one of the reasons why she got the blue and brown ones later in the series. :)

This is the cover to the original hand drawn version of The Final Frontier comic. This was done about 10 years ago. Way before I started dabbling in 3D art renderings. As you can tell some of the characters have changed in the current version of the comic.

The Final Frontier blog can be found here.

    DOWNLOAD HERE: http://www.sharecg.com/v/62973/view/11/Poser/7-of-9-Uniforms-for-V4-Bodysuit

To get the bump mapped version of the silver uniform, go to the Material Room (Poser only. Probably will not work in DAZ).

The boots are the Biker Boots that come with the V4 Bodysuit Expansion pack.

For the images, I used CSI's head morph found here: http://www.sharecg.com/v/27566/Poser/7

Thank you! Quick test for the suit itself ... basic textures load fine in D/S. A little tweaking and :-)
Sadly too hot for renders and time to close down the 'puters again ... 'one day' ...

Machine translations are useful for getting a general idea about what text written in a foreign language means. However, "general idea" isn't always exactly accurate; the translator literally translates (word for word) the text which often results in grammatically incorrect, if not completely incoherent, text. We've developed Bad Translator to show just how funny things can get. Enter any text in English then click "Translate!" to start. The program translates the text back and forth using Babelfish, Bing, FreeTranslation.com, and TransPerfect, then displays the final English translation.

    This is from http://ackuna.com/badtranslator :)

    Original text:

"Space: the final frontier. These are the voyages of the starship Enterprise. Its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before."

...8 translations later, Bing gives us:

"Meeting place: space, the final frontier. It is all travel space ship Enterprise. Her five-year mission: to explore new worlds quest for a new life and new civilizations, and dare not ever had."

...18 translations later, Bing gives us:

"Meeting point, space, the final frontier. Is already in place for sending. There has never been a mission for a new five-year term, unlike the new civilization, to discover and find cars. Mondes"

...27 translations later, Bing gives us:

"Place at the local level, the final frontier on this page has already sent to you, otherwise it is not a mission to discover and find a new tea civilization. 5 years. Mondo"

...35 translations later, Bing gives us:

"At the local level. This is consistent with the final and you send. Search and find new 5 year Mondo tea. The Mission of civilization

The more translations you add, the weirder it gets :)

Has anyone done 7 of 9's Borg eyepiece thing? I can't find it on the freebies list, but I seem to remember having seen it somewhere...

A guy did a version of 7 for V2 with the eyepiece. Unfortunately he pulled it out of the net some time ago (the character was called called Scifi character or something like that)

Okay. Glad I'm remembering something instead of just imagining it. Well, I guess we need to make a new one then...

Hi all! i've stopped using poser and daz for my trek stuff, simply because neither work well without crashing my computer.

Anyone who wants to see what i've been up to in the meantime, send me a PM and i"ll show you my work in second life.

Anyone know where I can find a Constitution refit that I can change the name on? All the models I've come across have the freakin' name built into the mesh- making the model useless to me.

That's looking really good! I think you could go even a little stronger with the bump.

Thanks. Not without making the suit disappear in strange places. However I'm thinking to try one of those scripts for making bumps and see what happens. Found a reference photo for the underwire ... we'll see.

update: ... well forget the script for making wire bumps!
but I did figure out what my D/S was doing ... it can really 'displace' ... so I have to move the bump lines a little away from the leg seam, and then it looked much better at a higher setting.
