Released: Temple of Anubis [Commercial]
Hey guys and gals, my Temple of Anubis set has just been released yesterday, I had a lot of fun making this, I realized a few months back while searching the marketplace that there was a shortage of ancient temples that actually had 'collapsing' tiles and mechancial guards that come to life when an intruder is there to steal a valuable treasure, like what happens in the Indiana Jones / Lara Croft films, so I just had to make such a Temple of course haha! I created this forum thread for customers who have questions about using my product or potential customers, I will check in when I can to answer any questions you may have. I have a question of my own actually, since this is my FIRST day on the DAZ forums I noticed my old name "JARhead777" I created like 8 years ago is still used when I post something, but of course I want to use my P.A. name "Wicked Creations", I tried to change it but the gears in the corner don't work for me, maybe I need to contact suppoort, I hope there is an easier way for such a simple edit. Thanks guys!

You can change your forum name here: https://www.daz3d.com/customer/account/edit/
Actually, I did have a question -- I bought it but haven't had a chance to try it out yet. The statues are, I assume, based on Genesis. What capabilities do they have? Can I apply Genesis textures or morphs to them?
Thank you Fixmypcmike, for both the help with my name change (it worked as you can see ) and for buying the Temple set. As to your question, NO the Anubis statues are stand-alone, they are not Genesis based, the 4 corner statues and the large statue are just props made of multiple parts, the 2 side Anubis statues are 'figures', they are the mechanical guardians of the Temple, you control them using the controllers found in the 'posing tab', they each have 3 action sequences! I hope this helps, I believe if I remember correctly there is an artist here who did make a Genesis 1 or 2 based Anubis figure, I would help with that if I knew how to insert Hyperlinks here, guess I'll need help with that too lol!
I have also bought this set, but have not played with it yet.
You can just copy hyperlink from the adress bar of your browser and paste the hyperlink in the body of the message in Daz forums.

Ahh.... Yesss..., the first hyperlink is the Anubis I was thinking of, thanks for finding it for us Artini, and another thanks for the instructions, it is easier than I thought actually, I assumed there would be a hyperlink icon above like Yahoo has in composing e-mails, I'll check out the other links Artini!
Excellent! Bought this the other day, finally got some time to play with it. The godrays really add to the spooky vibe, and the animations for the Anubis statues and the floor tiles are great. Definitely needs the Indiana Jones theme music somewhere in the background...
Thanks for the comment SpottedKitty, ya I agree it needs the music, someone here will figure out a "soundtrack" plugin that will activate an .mp3 / .wav file when a certain pose conrtol dial is used lol, just need the "rolling" boulder to chase G3, or now G8 haha, glad you enjoy my set!
Please make some add-ons or expansions with alternative themes: Temple of Ancient Alien Gods, Temple of Ishtar, Temple of Kali, Temple of Bastet... it would be very useful and would have demand
My first thought was "what a cool set". My second thought was "The individual pieces and props would work with a lot of other environment sets, which would be even more cool".
Well, it looks great. I did have one quick question. I used one of the presets and had this result. Why are those ghost lights visible in my render? Shouldn't they be invisible?
Ahhh.... Hi Greybro, Yes these panel lights are visible by default when you load the scene, they provide some cool reflections on some of the surfaces below. When you want to hide them simply select the panels in the Scene tab, then in your Materials folder in your Iray folder select "TOA !Light panels (hide)", this icon simply HIDES the panels, this I think is the only camera view that will show the panels when not hidden! You guys can also simply hide the whole roof and the light panels thereby using just the DAZ light dome to light the scene, that will brighten up the scene and give an OPEN feel to it!
Equis void: I never thought of expansions like that, cool idea actually!
Fastbike 1: ya the Anubis figure could work anywhere, I've made many renders with just him and a light dome with say, a Museum backgroud, many possibilities!
Snagged this the second I saw it. Haven't had time to play with it and won't really until after the 1st but its something I am really looking forward too!
any plan on expansion figures and symbols to more themes?
Thanks for the purchase Ice Dragon Art, hope you like it! I Love your idea on expansions EquisVoid, however I have a few other non-related products I wan't to do first, so it would be a few months for sure before I re-visit the Temple!
Just got around to installing this, and I had two questions:
1) The Iray version appears to have a lot more options than the 3Delight version (e.g. separate figure for the break-away tiles, separately-loadable props). Does the 3Delight version have these features but only loadable as the full scene, or are they not available in the 3Delight version?
2) The Poser version is tagged for Poser 9+ only -- does it use Poser 9 weight-mapping, or does it use legacy parametric rigging (which would also work in older versions of Poser and DS)?
Hey Fixmypcmike, my apologies for not checking in here as often as I should, I will try to answer your questions as best I can.
1) Yes the Iray version seems to have more features but there is a good reason for this, for example, you can load in the Iray props like the brazier / treasure pillar in 3Delight then APPLY the 3Delight material to them, I did this to reduce file size, if I created a separate 3Delight brazier prop for example it would have created a NEW data file for the same object as the Iray version, better in some cases IMO to just make a 3Delight mat file. The break-away tiles are separate Iray only, if I remade the Temple now I probably would not have included it as a separate figure as it only can be used in the Temple in a certain position anyway. So to answer your question, YES the extra props are available in 3Delight, you just have to use the 3Delight mat files AFTER you load the Iray items, and the Genesis eyelight items are only needed in the Iray version as different light types are used in each version.
2) I remember tagging each Poser file to work in Poser 8 and up without the annoying warning about version numbers, I just tested the Temple in EVERY version from 7 on up just now!! Here are my results.....
Poser 7 : Cameras dont work, some strange ground plane that cant be hidden appears but is not rendered, the Anubis figure has 1 action sequence that doesn't work, in other words, don't bother in 7 lol!
Poser 8 : Cams don't work and has the same ground plane that wont show up in renders but everything else is fine.
Poser 9 / 2012 Pro and up : All looks good but I couldn't get the dust panel to work in any version unfortunately, just in DAZ
I hope this answers your questions Fixmypcmike!
Thanks very much!
Glad I could help Fixmypcmike!
