I agree with nonesuch00, there's a lot of content across the generations, really incredible content. Wear Them All opens up access to a ton of it, so does CrossDresser. I'm a writer with characters across every generation, and haven't found it too difficult to get the clothing between them. You just need the right tools.
For G2M specifically, Valzheimer's G3M for G2M is invaluable. You can get all the G3M clothes and hairs onto G2M. There's also an M4 clone available to bring the old content forward, and of course all Genesis 1 content will autofit to G2M without the need to purchase anything, it's built into Daz. That's a huge amount of content.
I know this because I have a main character on my next book cover who refuses to be anything but a G2M and loves to wear M4 clothing. I've tried every combination under the sun, but he won't budge. Story people can be pickier than real ones sometimes. LOL
I don't know. Really there's not much you can do with men's clothing like in real life. We already have polo shirts, a tux, shoes, jeans and some underwear. That generally covers each generation, everything beyond that becomes a risk. To be honest, most of the male renders posted here the males have just basic clothing or next to nothing, so that translates into not a big need to fill the store with male content. Really the only thing I'll quickly drop into my basket is male underwear, but even my promos can't have the sexy items I used to use. That's why i repurpose old items from previous generations.
Most of my products focuses on unique body shapes and morphs, with the appropriate JCMs that aren't in the base G3M or some of the other male morph products. Most guys that you buy will have wonky bends in their arm raises and thigh/pelvis/glute areas along with gens morphs and other anatomical "elements" that will help with your renders if you're rendering your men next to nothing. That's my niche, but i know i could make more money if i did a female shape with all those bend corrections in them... but the curious thing is i'll see things people ask for be released days before their post, and it's not because it's not being advertised; it's people aren't paying attention to daily releases for this content.
Hmm I fear you are right but wish it weren't so... I'm disappointed that you can't do your usually smexy guy underwear guys any longer... since your promos have always rocked... honestly that seems a bit strange considering what some of the ladies in the promos wear....
Hmm well hopefully the next generation clothing will look better so Michael 8 can either wear previous generation content or make do with fewer staple items.
The girls are getting knocked too for promos as well. But it was funny that i had to redo promos for a character that used a thong for D3 that I repurposed for G3M and it got rejected, but I bought it here in the store years ago... but the approved underwear created the illusion that he was naked even worse... so said OK. But really boxers and boxer briefs are so not sexy when that's what's selling the product.
Anyone wishing to stay with previous generation
Figures has to resign themselves to the reality
that the vendors have moved on to the latest figures.
your options are clear.
Waste your time and forum space begging vendors to commit financial suicide
and remember that Daz has a previous figure version cut off date for excepting submissions
Learn to auto/force fit newer & older content to your older figure.
Learn to make your own.
I have chosen the latter thus I can use the G2 male/females indefinately
and the content I create will be New/unique one-offs by default.
This isn't true at all. I've submitted older products after a new generation was released. There were some new m4 and v4 stuff released last year. Problem is that it's not going to make the money that a figure from the current generation would, hence it's better as a vendor to ditch the project or remake it for the current generation. So it's a customer sales driven decision, not one from DAZ3D.
Agreed. Odd too because it was okay before. I had heard the store was swinging to a more conservative approach but hadn't seen any particular evidence.
While thongs aren't my favorite swimwear on anybody I'm guessing Utah has no beaches.
Nothing to do with Utah, everything to do with Paypal/Credit Card Processors and other institutions.
How does anyone actually buy a thong then?
Not sure about that in this instance. Not much difference and both are showing thigh. You just have to look harder for fabric on one than the other.
Amazing render! I mean in terms of risquness I'm not getting the huge difference between showing the stringier strap or the double since really nothing at all is to be seen anywhere
