Silo? Anyone?

Got an email from SM for Silo 2 Pro at a good price.  Just wondering if anyone has an opinion about this software, and how well it fits with Carrara as an alternative modeller

I know FifthElement uses it to great effect!

This is one of his (several) Carrara reels, but most of the modeling (I think) was done in Silo 2

I picked up Silo in January this year just to learn what is this Silo and why so many people mention it so often. Then I made several attempts of modeling in Silo with a task to compare with my beloved Carrara and Blender. Silo is useful enough, but as for modeling, I prefer Blender. And I am going to discover Carrara modeler deeper. Here is a couple of my Silo modeling pictures.

  • I love it, that is all I use (and sometimes Blender for more complex UV jobs) smiley

I'm mostly curious about the sculptiing capabilities and export of normal and displacement maps

I bought 2.3 Pro a couple of years ago for $20 when it was on a mad sale... I thought why not..

I must open it and try it out one day.. Just never got around to it.

I use Silo for everything in modeling, so I can warmly suggest it!
