Mid-19th-Century Workaday Wear?

I wanted to do a Black History Month render of escaping slaves, but could not find anything for them to wear.  I may be overlooking something, but I think that there is a general lack of ca-1850 American male and female working-class clothing.  This would also cover doing gangs-of-new-york (or Horatio Alger) characters, for example.  Of course, a city laborer and a farm laborer (or slave) would have different wardrobes as well.
