Magix 101 - IRAY worlds skydomes not appearing in renders

I got this product after hearing that IRAY skydomes do not appear in renders unlike the 3DL versions.

However I cannot get the skydome in this product appear either.
I would have studied the instructions but none are provided with this product so any ideas folks?

I can't get the IRAY worlds to produce a visible backdrop!

  • Do you have Draw Dome on? Is there something in your scene that may be blocking the Iray dome (a modelled skydome, for example)?

    Checked for a modelled skydome
Tried Drawdome on and off with same result.

This discussion was created from comments split from: Iray skydome is not visible in the DAZ Studio ViewPort..

Combined two postings of the same question.

It should create a Iray Worlds object that has a Base (horizon and ground), with Sun and Skydome parented to it.

If you aren't seeing anything like that, you aren't doing something right...

    Worked it out eventually...
From 3DL days, I always set up my scene and cameras and then added the skydome.
With the IRAY Worlds skydome when it load it adds a "scripted" camera...if you do not render with that camera then the skydome does not appear!
That's why you need some instuctions or warning to use the camera "supplied"!

Erm, created a new camera, 24mm wide angle, rendered just fine...

Hmm I wonder if it glitches is you use an existing camera in a scene! I always create a new camera when I start a scene and in my case "Camera 1" did not draw the skydome.

Anything is possible... As you say you created a new camera 1st, I did try that also..

Loading the dome 'as is' would replace the whole scene, camera(s) included, with the Iray dome scene. As such, I did 'merge' the scene to 'preserve' the existing camera 1. It still rendered fine.

That's the hard part with finding a solution to the problem; with so many different systems and their setups, it is not always possible to replicate a problem from one system on another...
