Xanadu Hair for G2F looks like cardboard?

I haven't seen this with a hair product before. http://www.daz3d.com/xanadu-hair-for-genesis-2-female looks like it's made of a bunch of sheets of cardboard rather than strands of hair. It looks natural in the promotional images but completely artificial when I load and render it. Not sure what I'm missing...?
