Baker and Bump maps?

So I picked up Baker from Inagoni yesterday, and I love it... except it doesn't seem to work with (regular) Bump maps. It produces beautiful Normal maps, sure... but I like having a Bump map to have the option of plugging it into Displacement or whatever.
The output comes out flat black shapes on white background.
Am I missing something obvious?

carrara happily uses normal as bump or displacement so prob why, I must admit I mostly only render diffuse and normal myself, D|S bump channel with normal really only layers the two anyway and pretty sure would work in displacement too.

Well, blow me down. I had no idea you could use Normal maps in Displacement.
Duuuh.
