Need advice or short tutorial to add bit of animation

I have made a scene where I have some neon signs but want to add some animation thereto.  The tutorials and videos I had seen are more related to moving objects.  In my case I just want to have an effect of lights going on/off as seen in some neon signs.  Are there an easy way to do this is Bryce 7?  I was thinking of doing this as postwork in Paint Shop Pro with it's Animation Shop.  But since Bryce have animation I am sure there should be a way but I have never used this before.

You can set keyframes  in the materal lab for materials only. I asume your using the ambient value channel to drive the brightness or glow of the neon lights. I would start by keyframing that slider values at differant levels..

I have no experience with animation in Bryce.  What I have used was just parallel lights in front of each of the signs.  The signs was already textured, thus the lights brighten up the colours to give a more glow effect.  Thus, keyframes sounds like animation which I still have to learn more about.

I love animations too but like everything else we learn, it's trial and error together with patience.

Thanks, have downloaded all the videos!  Yes, trial and error is the best way to learn.

Trial abnd error is good - that's experimenting; click on everything and see what happens, use ctrl, alt, shift keys too, when clicking. Conside the Bryce UI and Labs an adventure game in its own right and hunt for surprises. I also recommend to get the Bryce 6 Artist Guide (is comlete, Bryce 7 options are obviously missing, but it's nevertheless helpful) and Bryce 7 Artist Guide (incomplete but IBL is complete and the new Light Lab is also mostly complely covered).
