"rotating earth" animation

Forgive me if it has been posted did a quick search which produced nothing. I'm wondering if i can add an animation to a sphere which will eventually become Planet earth, Only reason i want to know this is because I will then be able to transfer it to other ideas i have.

This will be the scene, it is not totally finished so ignore the errors lol.

    I don't know if you meant to attach a scene to your post, but there's nothing showing up. But see my post above to see that it can be done quite easily... Hope this helps.
